I’m begging trans people to be more dangerous
this isn’t like a cutesy post I mean it I need trans people to arm and train themselves and not be victims to bigotry.
side note, not as correction but because i want a more precise PSA:
"arm and train yourself" does not mean "buy a gun". not telling you Not to get a gun, but that is far from the only option, and for many people and many reasons, far from the best.
consider knives, kubotans or other fist load weapons, unarmed martial arts, there is a whole world of self defense techniques out there, but by god make sure that you TRAIN. knowing how to handle yourself physically and do breakfalls and blocks and strikes and shit is gonna be way more use than having a knife that's scary-looking but not practiced.
(and additionally on the subject of martial arts in particular, don't necessarily look for traditional martial arts. while it's great for self discipline and pnhysical exercise, ultimately it lacks a little in the way of pure efficiency of violence when compared to MMA or stuff derived from military CQC. that said tho, i think quality of teaching trumps all.)
