this is one of my favorite videos on the internet, and it kills me that the source has been silenced by youtube’s copyright system, so I’m putting it here!
I have seen a version of this on tumblr before, but the audio in that one is just a little bit off because that person edited it back in themselves
but today, I am proud to present the original video, sent to me by Crispy Crungy, who gave me permission to upload it here and share it with you all!
enjoy!
I love this description. It reads like a dedication speech for an art museum. Like we’re all witnesses to this video being interred in the Met. Preserving these things is important, and they really captured that.
admittedly I don’t spend a lot of time on reddit in general so ymmv but the ftm fitness subreddit is literally that “bodybuilders responding to forum post by skinny dude” meme. like every reply is genuinely good advice and/or “you look amazing, king”

I think this new social media trend of moralizing the desire to be willfully ignorant and illiterate as some sort of righteous pushback against academic elites is so annoying because these people won’t just admit to the simple fact that they are just jocks who don’t play sports. but maybe instead of talking about “bookshelf red flags” or how any media produced outside of corporate america is “pretentious” they could go outside. learn a craft. cook a delicious meal. you don’t have to read “scary foreign literature” but please just admit you don’t actually like books and do many of the other valuable things offered with your time instead of getting obnoxiously defensive about it and pretending that those of us who do enjoy learning and expanding our horizons and care about meaningful art are oppressing you specifically.
