getting ipgd fired was my single greatest favor to the homestuck fandom and i barely had to lift a finger
okay for those of you asking for elaboration on THIS one: basically back when the epilogues dropped i made some vague tweets where i said, without naming names, that a lot of the stuff in the epilogues made me uncomfortable because of its narrative resemblance in a lot of ways to the long and infamous stridercest fanfic that ipgd, who worked on the epilogues, wrote. i also said that the jade dog dick stuff was pretty gross in this context too because ipgd got their start drawing futanari porn of the then-13 years old homestuck characters on 4chan’s homestuck board - particularly jade and kanaya, specifically.
at this time the majority of people on homestuck twitter were newer, post-hiveswap-era fans because everyone old was either still exclusively on tumblr or had the good sense to just go find different media to post about, so a lot of folks had NO IDEA about any of this.
my twitter account had <600 followers, but i was mutuals with kate, and she replied to me and was basically like. “please take this tweet down you’re going to start a witch hunt.”
and i replied along the lines of “i think it’s very unprofessional for you, someone who works on this piece of media, coming to me, a fan, who is posting good-faith and factually accurate concerns about a piece of media i like on my incredibly small personal twitter account and tell me to delete it, especially because i have provided zero identifying information to anyone who does not already know about this person’s litany of Weird Internet Pornography Crimes”
but the thing is, by replying to my tweet, with her SIGNIFICANTLY LARGER AUDIENCE, kate brought this tweet to the attention of people who were interested in naming names/providing receipts and in fact did so. the whole thing spiraled from there as the knew crop of fans (rightfully!) reacted with a TON of discomfort about the whole situation, and it ended with IPGD being removed from future homestuck projects and posting a public explanation about the whole ordeal.
but once again, i literally only really made one pretty vague tweet and did absolutely nothing else until shit had already broke bad. it was just That Fragile of a situation. it kate hadn’t replied to it and basically told me to keep my mouth shut and not cause trouble, nothing would have happened, ironically.

absolutely obsessed with the way Fahrenheit is legitimately a superior temperature measurements for day to day life than celsius (more precise, accessible, and understandable) but ppl refuse to admit to it bc they’re so caught up with the “silly americans refuse to convert to metric” gag

it’s bc celsius is most useful for measuring WATER temperatures (0 degrees = water freezes! 100 degrees = water boils!)
but fahrenheit is most useful for measuring temperatures as they affect PEOPLE (0 degrees = really cold weather! 100 degrees = really hot weather! almost 100 degrees = average person’s body temperature!)
it blows my mind every day that people still think we dont learn metric in the US. imperial is for day to day small shit (your first thumb segment is an inch, a foot is a foot of a large person, 100 degrees is a hot day, easy) and metric is for super accurate measurements (food labels, medicines)
