Cosplay, general nerdiness, lots of Gravity Falls, Star Wars, Pokemon, Zelda, other miscellaneous Nintendo, Bleach, My Little Pony, and Disney, interspersed with random other stuffs I feel like posting.

This ichiruki drawing goes in special thanks to all those who share  in their fb, ig ,tw  page or repost and social networts and give me the respective credit, thanks for sharing my art!

Yo, for people who’ve been trying and failing to get vaccine appointments for at-risk relatives, here’s my advice: find a vaccine twitter bot posting for the state they live in.

My severely at-risk Mom, who lives in NJ, has been trying for weeks and weeks with no luck. Here’s what I did to get her an appointment:

  • I searched around for an NJ vaccine twitter bot: (found this one for NJ specifically https://twitter.com/nj_vaccine. There should hopefully be others for other areas). These bots scour the vaccine appointment pages and tweet out when they find new appointments available.
  • I followed, turned on notifications for the account (bell icon), downloaded the twitter app, and turned on push notifications. That way my phone would ding whenever the bot posted.
  • The slots go FAST and sites get weighed down with traffic: so when it posted with listings in an area near my mom, I opened the link in an incognito/inprivate browser, opened about ten different tabs in that browser all pointed to the same link, and refreshed them all continuously until one of them got through.
  • I sped through the information form: for NJ, NAME is the most important thing and apparently the only thing they verify, along possibly with DOB (I cannot say if that applies to other states). I chose “no insurance” because it was faster than filling out my mom’s insurance information. The vaccine is free so it shouldn’t matter.

I managed to successfully book an appointment within a few hours of trying out this strategy. I did that on March 18th and managed to get an appointment for my mom this morning, March 20th. She’s now had her first shot.

Sharing this for people who’re in the same position, because I’ve heard a lot of similar stories.

Adding onto this with my own experiences: if you are in a state where walgreens is doing vaccines, the vaccine appointment slots update at 4:00am pacific time.

I’m fortunate enough to be a graduate student in California where I qualify for the vaccine, and my advisor gave me this tip and I managed to book my appointment That Night for 3 days out (they only have reservations for the next 3 days at a time, so when you do this you’ll be booking a shot for 3 days out ie. book on Thursday for a shot on Saturday). I can’t guarantee this is the case for all walgreens across the USA but for sure in california all you have to do is:

3) Set an alarm for 3:55am or something and log into that signup sheet again

4) Refresh until new slots appear at 4:00am

5) Schedule your appointment!

I was genuinely shocked how well this worked, and if you get Pfizer or Moderna vaccines walgreens will also have you schedule your second shot at the same time, so you don’t need to worry about having to go through everything again!

Also I haven’t tested this one yet but according to my mom who’s been helping other people get vaccine appointments, “Walmart opens their vaccines at midnight eastern time (10 colorado time). The trick though is that you have to set your computer’s clock to eastern time. Don’t know why but it works. And doesn’t work if computer is still on mountain time.” - so that’s another option you can try as well!

It’s also helpful to actually call around to hospitals, pharmacies, anywhere you can and ask if they have a list or are willing to make one of people to call in case someone cancels or is a no-show.

My mother, brother, father, and uncle all qualified in our state and this is how they all got their shots. They called hospitals and asked if they could be called if someone cancelled. Not every place is willing, not every person at a place is willing. It DOES mean extra time and steps from healthcare workers who are already over worked and burned out. Be kind and patient when taking to them and understand how much is on their shoulders right now.

That being said, most understand that unless it’s the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, if it’s not used by the end of the day, it has to be thrown away, and they don’t want to have to waste them. And many people providing these shots are just as eager to make sure that people get them as people are to get them.

With every one of my family members, the call was “can you get here within 2 hours?” And if not they called the next person on the list.

They’re working hard as hell to get people vaccinated and it’s wonderful! Good luck to everyone searching for one

I’m sorry if no one’s explained this to you before but a content creator telling you that their work isn’t for minors and it’s not their responsibility to jump through hoops to keep it from you is an adult looking out for kids. they’re modeling good boundaries and setting the expectation that you’ll engage with the online community like a person and take responsibility for your choices. if you cannot understand that you need to look out for yourself and take people seriously when they say their work isn’t suitable for young audiences then you are not ready to be unsupervised on the internet.

I’m pretty sure you don’t need to know French in order to understand this comic.

My local garden center had a strict “mask policy enforced by owner’s mother with a garden hose” and the woman really did, and I say this with adoration and aspiring to be like her someday- look like a wizened and moderately sadistic gargoyle perched on her lawn chair with the hose cocked, pressure building behind the nozzle, eagerly awaiting the next asshole.

This is why I don’t tell 99% people im bisexual

I love how gay people do it too. Just… really? You’re literally saying the same shit to bisexuals that straight people say to you, and you don’t see the hypocrisy?

Why is this a thing like really? Homosextual people of ALL beings should understand that you like what you like and if the answer multiple choice then that’s just more love to go around non?
