Mad Maggie was no slouch when it came to crunching faces in and shotgunning a poor sook in the arse when they turned tail and ran. But she had her blind spots. You didn’t lead any old resistance or two without acknowledging and confronting your flaws. She’d had enough close calls with death to count on her fingers and toes and a few locks of hair.
