Speaking of the Nightmare Before Christmas, I have all the figures! I think some other company made new ones but these are all the ones put out by NECA. Bad pic though. This is from my room when I lived in NY. Don’t have these displayed in my LA pad yet.
Revoltech Baragon figure. Super pose-able, super accurate to his film debut “Frankenstein Conquers the World”
My groovy green army. (for a challenge over on instagram)
Haunted Mansion statue by Jim Shore. Disney does a lot of stuff with this guy and I’d say most of them are hit or miss. Sometimes his style works and sometimes it falls off of something really high like a Disney villain. But this piece right here is a hit. The three hitchhikers are portrayed amazingly, and even have glow in the dark eyes and teeth. The lanterns light up as well, and when the lights are off it gives this piece a haunting purple glow.
AHI Bendy “Bend Em” monsters from the 70′s. Creech is my fave.
Hey guys! Its been a while since I posted. Anyway, lets get back into this with a bang! Let me present to you some of my most prized possessions... the Kidrobot Gorillaz figures! With the new album coming out sometime soon (?) I’ve been super hyped! So unlike most people I actually ordered these babies when they were first available on Kidrobot’s site. It was right when Demon Days came out in 2005, I was about 16 and my Gorillaz obsession was at its highest. I was plugged in. I knew when everything they did was coming out. If you know me personally you know that I will consider Gorillaz and Jamie Hewlett’s art a pinnacle of modern animation, a truly unique beast, and a huge inspiration to my own art. The figures are perfect. Based more on the first “phase” of the band, where the designs were much more simplistic with smooth lines and more defined shapes. The figures capture both that and Jamie’s unique sense of anatomy: Long legs, ape-like faces and wacky hands. Noodle’s guitar can be removed but there’s no reason to do it. 2D’s arms can come apart and be moved to his front. He also has a cigarette that you can take out of his hand. Russel is massive. Just holding him feels satisfying. Murdoc has the least amount of mobility, only his head swivels. But you could argue he’s the most uniquely designed of all the band members. I can’t say enough good things about these figures, they’re so beautiful. So I’ll just shut up and you can just look at these pictures.
Dear Count Zachula, I see that you have a wonderful collection of Real Squish Bugs. I too collect these elusive buggers and I see that you have quite a few of the bootlegs that only came from gumball machines. Would you be willing to sell or trade any of them to me ? I'd be very very interested
Hi there! Thanks for admiring my Real Squish bugs collection. I’m sorry to say but I do not have any of the bootlegs from the gumball machines. I have all the vibrating ones and only 3 of the smaller ones. I only have a couple extras of the bigger ones if you still want to trade. Shoot me an email: zachbellissimo@gmail.com
Well babies, here it is. The Big Mama Jamma. The Mean Mother Hubbard. The Big Kahuna. The Bad Mother Fucker. The Famous Amos. This, my friends is a rare jiggler. AHI made it. Anything for the Creech is rare. Everyone loves the Creech. What? And you don’t? This is a fine piece. I’m proud to have one. Give me diploma.
4 different Frankenstein rubber jigglers! From left to right: AHI large and small bendy Frank, Vic’s carded Frank (which kind of ripped off AHI’s) and the Ben Cooper Frank.
Show of hands, lets see how many of you recognize this Universal Monster? Ok lets see...uh huh...ok... no one. No one at all. Lemme learn ya sumthin, man cub. 1927, Universal made the silent flick “The Cat and the Canary”, which is what we like to call an “Old Dark House” movie. Bunch of people stuck in a creepy old house, with a fiendish villain running around. Something that would later inspire every incarnation of Scooby Doo. Well they call the villain in this film “The Cat” (sometimes referred to by fans as the Cat Creep), now how do you think he would have looked just from hearing his name? Well of course you automatically think...a long nose, whiskers, tusks, floppy hat...and ONE HUGE EYEBALL. Just one. That’s all you need, man. For that reason, I love this character. Who would have thought to come up with this look? Its brilliant. You might have seen him in some of my drawings maybe. Anyway, this is the only figure ever made of “the Cat”, which is actually a custom made model kit. Sassy’s Satelite made him and I snagged the last one! It was assembled and painted by Casey Kerr. The whiskers were added by me. The sculpt is perfect and I’m so happy to own this one of a kind weirdo of forgotten cinema. I wish he was a little more well know though. Couldn’t you see him hanging out with Frankenstein, Dracula and the Phantom?
Here’s a real special treat. Its a limited edition custom made GIANT jiggler, The BIG UGLY by Zac Amendolia. This thing is tremendouss! He’s about 12 inches long altogether. Brilliant sculpt. An amalgamation of vintage 70′s rubber uglies, this guy could be their king! The absolute best part though, there’s a squeaker in his mouth! Squeeze on his head and hear em squeak. There was also a bunch of other colorways but I only had the bones to snag one. Anyway this guy is definitely one of my favorite custom pieces and you should all check out more of Zac’s jigglers and art!
Hungry for some Boo Berry?
