Tired of politics but y'all keep saying dumb shit

@catchaglimpseofalleble / catchaglimpseofalleble.tumblr.com

You can call me Aric. 25. Engaged to be married. Minarchist. Catholic Convert. Theory of Natural Law and Virtue Ethics. ESTJ/TeSi/Sanguine. Crippling ADHD but in therapy. I'm open to asks of any kind. Sideblogs are agentarickale (scp), wise-wolf-sage (aesthetic), and theconceptof (band).

freaking lol at the pro aborts defending that teenager who, at seven months pregnant, induced an abortion and illegally disposed of the remains. “waaah she wasn’t ready to be a mom why are they punishing her”

she was SEVEN MONTHS PREGNANT

THIS IS A “FETUS” AT 28 WEEKS (7 MONTHS) GESTATION

These people don’t care about facts or how fetal development actually works. To them, the baby is a “clump of cells” right up to the last, like, week of pregnancy. This is what the “abortion on demand, no questions asked” mantra does to people’s brains.

Imagine defending forcing a child to have a child and thinking you're correct because the biggest child raping grift organization in history, your cult, has programmed you to think this is good.

😬

i genuinely love that that is your response.

my post: his teenager tried to abort a sentient and viable unborn child, at seven months pregnant

you: *can’t compute* uhhh muh Catholic Church evil???

That child being forced to carry a child should be allowed to do anything to remove an unwanted parasite.

Its amazing how you're unable to follow simple logic to connect the widespread and wrongheaded opposition to womens bodily autonomy spearheaded by the largest pedo ring and grift cult in history 😂

Calling me a pedophile supporter (something I would never accuse another person of without evidence, as I myself am a survivor of sexual violence) is not a logical response to the idea that abortion is wrong. It is an ideological response of a person who hates and resents religion and possesses such a massive intellectual ego that they cannot conceive of a person disagreeing with them reasonably.

Find peace.

I have plenty of peace. It doesn't come from a false sense of understanding and thinking my fairy tales really exist like you.

You support the catholic church, the largest and most widespread pedophile grift in the history of the world. They've spent the last 1500 years killing the indigenous and stealing the wealth of africans, asians, and south americans and moving pedo priests from parish to parish forever while ignoring their child rape.

Why wouldn't I hate religion? Made up ideas that have people raping kids and killing each other in absurd wars or just wasting time praying over imaginary friends like the virgin mary or muhammad is the most pointless scam. If you've ever given them a dime, you support child rape.

textbook example of derangement. once again i will say: your vitriol is a sign of an ideological complex, not a remotely neutral or intellectual view of religion, right down to your extremely plain, dull child’s view of over two thousand years (really like six thousand years) of nuanced history. Christians gained notoriety in the early church by being murdered constantly. we worship a God Who allowed Himself to be murdered out of an incomprehensible divine love, and Who called for moral perfection in all things, and exalted love and submission and peace over violence and exploitation. you possess probably liberal values judging by your atheism, and probably most if not all of your underlying moral beliefs (including your apparent disgust at colonization) are likely all derived from Christianity. Christianity is the reason ancient slavery became non-existent, and when the transatlantic slave trade began, it was repeatedly formally condemned. Christianity is the only ancient religion to affirm the dignity of all creatures as being intended for divine communion with God, the only to exalt charity, love, even toward strangers, as chief among the virtues. funny you mention Africa and South America - deeply Christian continents! sex abuse scandals, which you have as a convenient cudgel because you can’t conceive of any coherent or fair argument, happened in the 20th century, and have always been condemned as monstrously evil. Jesuit Catholics like Brebeuf did everything they could to protect indigenous people - he was murdered and tortured with the Huron whom he served. Jesuits among the Guarani took up arms to defend them from colonizers. my religion contains evil people, which is something we are pretty open about. yet it’s actual teachings have inspired the most profound acts of love - a woman forgiving her daughter’s murderer and becoming friends with him, a man purchasing the services of prostitutes in order to pray with them, feed them, and give them a moment of dignity, a geriatric woman dragging dying and ill children from the streets to give them at least a dignified death, all meekness and humility and love being exalted with no room for selfishness and hatred. this isn’t to convince you, because you don’t want to be convinced, but for those reading on the off chance they might think you have credence to your point of view. there’s no reason i want to attempt discussion with someone with your level of disdain. if it means anything and teaches anything inside of you: for the love of all that is Holy, exercise an iota of compassion and make at least one good honest attempt at understanding the person of Christ, what He did, what He taught, what He came to do, in context of the narrative of Scripture, and apart from the history of the Catholic Church as you know it right now, and perhaps you can see why any of us choose to stay.

anyway, i’m gonna go support child rape by uhhhh tithing to charities, playing with my babies, asking God to make me a better more loving person, meditating on my Bible, etc etc all very culty and pedophilic i know.

“Abortion is empowering women”

How many times do we have to say this? Abortion hurts women.

Friendly reminder that the APA regularly denies the existence of abortion trauma. Not “some women experience distress, others do not,” but full on denial and gaslighting. They straight up claim that abortion trauma is not real. For years before they made that stance, even pro-choice psychologists were discussing “post-abortion stress syndrome.” This is not a made up phenomena as a result of societal shaming but an expected response to a deadly and invasive procedure. Anyone who is post-abortive deserves access to safe, validating mental health care (yes, even the pro-choice ones!!! This shit is literally lethal, I don’t want more people to die).

A link to the article for anyone interested, and the study itself.

Every person need to be taught disability history

Not the “oh Einstein was probably autistic” or the sanitized Helen Keller story. but this history disabled people have made and has been made for us.

Teach them about Carrie Buck, who was sterilized against her will, sued in 1927, and lost because “Three generations of imbeciles [were] enough.”

Teach them about Judith Heumann and her associates, who in 1977, held the longest sit in a government building for the enactment of 504 protection passed three years earlier.

Teach them about all the Baby Does, newborns in 1980s who were born disabled and who doctors left to die without treatment, who’s deaths lead to the passing of The Baby Doe amendment to the child abuse law in 1984.

Teach them about the deaf students at Gallaudet University, a liberal arts school for the deaf, who in 1988, protested the appointment of yet another hearing president and successfully elected I. King Jordan as their first deaf president.

Teach them about Jim Sinclair, who at the 1993 international Autism Conference stood and said “don’t mourn for us. We are alive. We are real. And we’re here waiting for you.”

Teach about the disability activists who laid down in front of buses for accessible transit in 1978, crawled up the steps of congress in 1990 for the ADA, and fight against police brutality, poverty, restricted access to medical care, and abuse today.

Teach about us.

You know how canaries were historically brought into coal mines, because if the mine was full of carbon monoxide the canary would die first and the miners would be able to escape before they died too?

I just found the greatest thing.

This is a canary resuscitator.

When the miners notice the canary getting sick with carbon monoxide poisoning, they can close that circular hatch so no more gas gets into the canary cage, and open the valve on that oxygen tank to keep the canary breathing. In other words, they made a spacesuit for birds.

By immediately giving the canary access to clean air, the miners can save it from the poison. The bird lives. To be clear, this is not for economic purposes, this was specifically created because the miners felt bad and wanted to save the bird.

Isn’t that just the perfect demonstration of what humans are like? We started sacrificing small creatures to save ourselves, and then felt bad and spent our valuable resources on saving the critters too. Because yeah the canary was the only way to test for CO, but it’s a living creature too, dammit!

Anyway here's some additions from the Maasai and Kikuyu, two grassy plain-dwelling groups from Eastern Africa that I think count as unfuckwithable

Feel like Poland should be included since we're literally called "people of the fields" according to the etymology of Poland.

Also look at her GO

I’m Métis, here’s some of ours! You’ll notice it looks remarkably similar to the above.

We also have some less intricate clothing (if it looks a bit Victorian to you - that’s pretty much the right era for most of this!)

Can’t believe no one’s done it yet I will be the person to add the cowboys: Latin American focus.

Here is the Chilean huaso:

Gauchos, from primarily Argentina where they’re a large national symbol close to the level of cowboys in the US. Also gauchos are in Uruguay.  Their pants are called bombachas and the other garment wrapped around them are called chiripas.  They work in grasslands called pampas, known for being really fertile:

Image

While they’re not as dressed up as the others or have as prominent of a culture, for a broader Latin American cowboy context, I feel like also adding llaneros, who are from Colombia and Venezuela, in the llanos region, a type of tropical grassland similar to the pampas, hence the name llanero. Pampas get annual flooding and these guys would go barefoot a lot, and you can see that the stirrup on the horse’s saddle is really different than what you’re probably used to seeing, to accommodate for that, which is what I want to point out as an aspect of plains cultures developing clothing/accessories/tools to suit the environment.

Cowboy culture happened wherever Spanish colonial influence and grassland biomes came together.  They differ based on the grasslands having different climates (ex tropical in South America), and the local indigenous influence (ex, backtracking to gauchos, they would use this tool called bolas to catch animals, which were basically two balls tied to a string that you threw and it spun around an animals legs, and were an indigenous invention):

I would love to keep posting cowboy dress lol but will stick to the post’s theme of grassland of course.

Adding to the post, I, hereby, present people of Kalash and Chitral:

Chitral means ‘field’ in the native language Khowar. Both Chitralis and people of Kalash are known to be indigenous people of Asia.

I wanna watch the sandman series but the fact they didn’t give him the messy goth hair from the comics is rlly putting me off

Sorry about reblogging this. Or rather, I don't think I did reblog this. I think a six year old boy who was meant to be using an app on my phone that encourages you to brush your teeth reblogged it accidentally.

New fear unlocked: Not that Neil Gaiman will find your post about his work and reblog it, but that a six year old son of Neil Gaiman will accidentally find your post about his dad's work and accidentally reblog it, forcing Neil Gaiman to reblog it again and apologize for said reblogging.

The creature that wants to kill you will not growl.

The function of a growl is as a warning. It is a communication that violence is available as a tool, but is not preferred. Other outcomes, besides your death, are available and should be considered.

But the creature that wants to kill you will not growl.

If your death is the goal, then growling will only serve as a delay and may result in your escape, which runs counter to the goal. There will be no growl, no warning. There will be no snarl or hiss or bluster. The creature that bares its teeth with the intent to kill only does so to bring closer its fangs to your demise.

The creature that growls does not want to kill you, but will if it must.

I advise you to appreciate the warning. You may not receive another.

Hey y’all wanna see the worst drink I’ve ever had to make. And we DID make it pretty because the lady was nice and there was literally no other customer in the store hold on let me find the picture

Avatar

This drink cost 18$ and when she googled the recipe she wrote “Costco and Wanda” instead of cosmo

She had to buy 2 different Frappuccino’s and have them poured into a cup and also a cake pop separately

I think it's so funny how we bred JOBS into dogs. I have two shih tzus and they were bred to be lap dogs. All they care about is looking cute and cuddling with people. Meanwhile my grandma has a border collie and that dog needs to feel so useful all the time, he acts like he will pass away if he doesn't have a job to do constantly

Avatar

On one hand this is extremely fucking funny, but on the other hand, it really boggles my mind how many people punish their dogs for just… doing the thing they were bred to do.

Your husky isn’t “hyperactive”, it’s bred to pull sleds for 8 hours straight and you have it in a 400 sq ft yard.

Your English sheepdog isn’t “pushy”, it’s bred to herd sheep, and you have neither to space nor the herd to allow it.

Your terrier isn’t “nippy”, it’s bred to kill rats and your hamster looks a hell of a lot like one.

Your Catahoula isn’t “mean to animals”, it’s bred to hunt any and all animals smaller than it, and you didn’t acclimate it to your cat.

Your Lhasa Apso isn’t “yappy”, it’s bred to bark at any tiny noise and alert watchmen to intruders

Like Jesus Christ, if you can’t provide an environment where your dog can’t fulfill its literal life purpose, maybe?? Don’t get that dog??? And if you do, maybe know the breed characteristics so you can redirect those traits into more constructive outlets????

Both your most common doodle's parts (labra and golden) want to hunt and retrieve water birds so the best suggestion I can give y'all is congratulations on your new duck hunting hobby.

66-linc-silver

Yorkshires and such that are notoriously called "granny dogs" were bred to hunt. they're fucking good at it and if they do they're nice, calm dogs, and not little yappy bastards. They only become the latter when they can't hunt.

This is why I don't trust people who glorify dogs and treat them as replacements for having children.

If you are not capable of respecting another human being's wants, needs, and health than you sure as hell aren't gonna do that for an animal. Dogs are not accessories or stuffed animals and if you want a pet you need to provide it with what it needs to be happy. Other living creatures do not exist for your entertainment.
