Freshman year, Suria lost her left arm in a car accident just as she was beginning to gain attention for her alarming skills in computer science and robotics. Rather than return as an inspirational "beat the odds" model student after a semester in the hospital, she transferred to Charleston. With somewhat frightening intensity she has spent two summers and most Sundays building herself a robotic arm--but as far as anyone at Charleston knows, she never lost her actual arm. (She tends to tell people she has a bone defect that requires constant surgeries in order to cultivate an aura of mystery.)
Other than robotic engineering, Suria's skills are: her ability to constantly be mistaken for a teacher, robbing top-secret government science facilities, and outdrinking everyone at parties. "Uptight bitch" might be a way of describing the way she dresses, but Suria is actually very social and very brash.
