We have lift off! ✈️ It’s official…Kenny is flying! The flight feathers have finally arrived and the tail feathers have a chance at life now. A few mini laps last night in the bedroom using the bed as a landing pad and then this morning he flew across the dining room and executed a perfect landing on a dresser. He is very, VERY proud of himself, and we are so excited for him! Our little Baby Kenny is growing up 😭 less and less striped baby feathers, more yellow, and more singing and chattering in place of baby noises 😓 my little fuzzy fluff ball will be gone soon but we’re looking forward to him learning to fly once these flight feathers grow out. In exchange for Baby Kenny teaching him good habits, Babybird is teaching Baby Kenny a few of his own…and one of them includes climbing into Andy’s laundry hamper through the handle hole. The pet store we got Kenny from had clipped his wings super short so he is still unable to fly 😓 Babybird is either hormonal lately or just feels like being a butthole. He keeps flying off to places and Kenny leaps off to join him, lands on the floor (hence one and a half tail feathers left) and can’t get back up for food and water. Since welcoming Baby Kenny, there’s been some interesting and positive changes in Babybird. I’ve had Babybird for almost 12 years…raised him from a baby just like Dodo. He was ALWAYS skittish and never wanted scritches—or hands near him at all. He always wanted to eat greens and veggies but didn’t eat a lot of them because Dodo didn’t. Now he is seeing how much a cuddle bug Kenny is, and how Kenny also eats anything you put in front of him. After a few months, Babybird is begging for scritches (still a little skittish at times) and can’t get enough of good green food finally! Who is this bird and what has he done with Babybird??
