Guess I need a dumbass post about this now that I’ve officially been burgled by NFT scammers:

I’m pretty relaxed about my art being used for people playing games like tabletop, if you want to use any of my art (esp the original fantasy art) for a profile, NPC, enemy, or character pic, go for it. If you make minor edits please do not repost it as your own without explicit permission. If you are using it in a private group and not a public area, you don’t need permission (just don’t claim you made the original picture).

I am completely against NFTs and give NO permission, EVER, for NFTs. If you see any of my art for NFTs please notify me. I am merely a hobby artist but I support professional artists and their industry. NFTs delineate artists from profit, and use art in a ponzi-type scam that does not benefit the integrity of art or artists. NFTs are a pyramid scheme and I want no association whatsoever.

Friendly reminder that GIMP does pretty much everything Photoshop does, and it’s 100% free. Fuck DRM and the license culture, we have plenty of open source options available to us as a consumer.

  • Lightworks is a freeware video editor on par with Premiere
  • Blender is an excellent freeware 3D renderer, possibly better than After Effects
  • Lightzone to replace Lightroom
  • Inkscape to replace Illustratr
  • Audacity to replace Audition (I also received a free version of Pro Tools with my Scarlett Solo audio interface)

If Adobe is going to be greedy shitheads, then fuck ‘em. Don’t use their stuff. Freeware can be just as good, if not better, than Adobe CC.

Reblog to save an artist.

I will keep saying this: GIMP sucks butts.

- Medibang Paint and Fire Alpaca for more cartoon style illustration

- Krita for painting

- Clip Studio Paint (not free, but often on sale and cheap even at full price) is better than PS for art and I’m about to cut adobe entirely. Even does some photo editing.

- Paint Tool SAI (again, not free but cheap) old but good, there’s a ton of hacked copies around too. Not hard to get for free.

- Open Tunez for animation.

I’m currently using Affinity Photo and it’s a great Photoshop alternative. One time fee only and it’s not really expensive, plus supports PSD formats. Free trial available too! Davinci Resolve for video editing is amazing as well! :)

I work Adobe free. Clip Studio Paint does just about anything any Photoshop or Illustrator could, Davinci Resolve is easier to use than Premiere and just as useful. Adobe can eat shit.

Small caveat for anyone using freeware. Be sure that the company you are downloading your freeware from and maker of that freeware is considered reputable. These, as far as I know are all good freeware makers, though I haven’t looked into them, so don’t take my word on it. However, as great as freeware is, and believe me I use it when I can, there is often a risk of viruses and worms that can come from the site or the program.

I replaced photoshop with clip studio paint several years ago and never looked back. They do have a subscription fee in some versions of it, but I think it’s decent. I’ve never found freeware I quite love, so I think it’s a good compromise, and I believe some versions of it are a one time fee that’s pretty reasonable. The only criticism I can think of is it handles text kind of awkwardly due to being a Japanese program (it’s optimized for Japanese characters). Over time it’s gotten better and not worse on that front though. I’ve used it on both MacBook and iPad and it has a very nice feel, so I’ll vouch for it. And yeah every time I’ve given gimp a chance I’ve found out it just doesn’t cut it, unfortunately.

Friendly reminder that this blog is pro-choice and if you don’t think everyone should have full control of their own body, then kindly unfollow me right now and go to hell

Ste Pickford, an Elden Ring player who has been keeping a hand drawn journal recording memorable moments of his playthrough, has uploaded several scans of his sketches. They includes his own character, the breathtaking sceneries, NPCs that he is fond of, as well as memorable side quests.

I feel bad not paying for your art! (I’m a professional artist, you put hard work and years of practice into this.) Could I DM you my email and pay for the full res file? Then I can get it printed by a local shop with a better printer and nicer paper than what I have available. I just want one to go above my rosy boa’s terrarium. She’s a sweet idiot and the picture reminds me of her.

Don't worry about it -- if anything, please donate to planned parenthood or another group fighting for reproductive rights instead of paying me. ^^; and sure!

Do you sell prints of your art anywhere? I adore your snerson picture, and I would much prefer paying the artist over printing a stolen picture from your tumblr

No, but you can print it for personal use. I give permission for people wanting to use it for their own wall/tshirts/tabletop stuff. Just no selling or claiming ownership, obviously. And absolutely nothing NFT related (just stating that for others seeing this post).
