Dean Winchester x Hermione Granger (fluff)
Dean looked out at the dark road, glistening with rain in the moonlight. Lining the highway were forests, the dark, barren trees casting eerie shadows over the Impala. Dean was content. Autumn was his favorite time of year and he loved how the leaves fell in soft clusters, their colors flushed red and deep brown. It never failed to mesmerize him how the sky always stood lit in eternal dawn, the navy blue sky littered with vivid violet clouds. These hazy hours that he spent on the highway, listening to nothing but his thoughts made him feel like he was soaring, above the clouds, away from this world, monster-ridden and dangerous.
He was on a case. Sammy had numerous contacts that he had gotten from Bobby that occasionally tipped the Winchesters off of potential cases. A few weeks ago, Sam had gotten a call from a woman with a thick British accent, posh but stern, that had informed them that there was a coven of vampires in England- a coven so large that they had taken over multiple towns, there numbers growing like wildfire. The woman said nothing about herself, other than the name ‘Granger’. She had given them coordinates and hung up, leaving the brothers in the dark.
Sam had gotten sick, and bedridden as he was, he had told Dean that working on this case would not only give Sammy a chance to heal but for Dean to stay clear of infection. That was why Dean was now tearing at breakneck speed down the forest roads of England, breathing in the scent of fallen pines.
Hermione Granger was afraid. Fear wasn’t new to her at all, but never had she ever had to share it alone. Harry and Ron had decided to take a trip to Uzbekistan for a Quidditch match and the last thing she wanted was to rope them back to Godric’s Hollow, the town in danger.
The coven had taken over multiple towns but due to expert warding from herself and the other witches and wizards in the small community of Godric’s Hollow, they had prevented the coven from taking a step within the bounds of their town. But rumor had it that some of the vampires in the coven used to be wizards before they were Turned so it was only a matter of time before they broke down the feeble barrier that she had erected.
This is why she awaited Dean Winchester. He had killed hundreds of vampires in his lifetime and she was sure that with her help, they could exterminate these vermin once and for all.
But she had to make sure of one thing- Dean Winchester could never, ever know what she was. Rumor had it that he was quick to kill witches, though she doubted he had met any that had gotten their powers by birth rather than by conversing with demons.
