Didn’t dress up for this winter International Loliday, but I remembered I never posted this coordinate from the Rufflecon tea party. I started with a dolly kei influence but it ended up very Chinese somehow. Also I’m really happy to show off all these lolita indie brands.

Skirt: Juliette et Justine Vest, flower accessories: Atelier Angel Bat ear headdress: Antique Beast Blouse: Mary Magdalene Jade brooch: Antique Bunka Doll Purse: I Do Declare Lover’s Eye Ring: Voodooodolly

Working on a chintz Pet en L’air for the Rufflecon handmade contest. Since Simplicity is a sponsor of the contest, a Simplicity pattern must be used to qualify. I’m using Simplicity 3637 and modifying the bejesus out of it. First step is adding boning to the lining to fake the 18th century stays that’s needed for the right shape. After adding the grommets, I can do the final fitting. I ended up adding additional boning to the back. Since it’s a conical shape, it doesn’t quite fit on my dressform. Now for the fun part of draping the iconic back pleats.

Hello, new to your blog and I fell instantly in love with that peplum corset top!!! Did you make the pattern yourself, and if so is it available for purchase? -thanks again

I’m glad you liked it. The pattern I used is Simplicity 5582, which is actually from their Rennaisance Costume Collection. :D I have some construction notes and work in progress here: http://atelierangel.tumblr.com/post/128073940679/work-in-progress-pictures-of-the-peplum-vest-fell

Work in progress pictures of the peplum vest. Fell in love with the fabric at Calico Corners, bought it and realized it matched this Juliette et Justine skirt perfectly. I used Simplicity 5582, but I added back darts and added a lining without using bias edging the pattern called for.

The second picture shows me making that tight turn inside out with the lining. A lot of wiggling and patience involved. The third shows clipping the seams to help making smooth curves on the perplum. The fourth is the fitting. I love these new clips I got. They work great on thick fabric like this when pins would distort the fabric or be bent.

Two hairpieces finished for the Secret Rose Letter Teaparty tomorrow. I used three different techniques to make all of the flowers by hand. I loved playing with all the different textures of the fabrics. They're on a buckram base with clips attached. The best part is I made this with everything I had on hand. I can't remember the last time this happened.

At an estate sale last year, I bought a cute white wicker basket for $2.50 and it was filled with ribbon embroidery supplies. Bought a couple of books this spring to teach myself but it felt overwhelming. I really need to just stop overthinking everything and just do it. Feels good to be making things again after being creatively blocked for so long.

Leurr Getter Fruit Cans for brunch with my husband for ILD. Atelier Angel Spoon Necklace, BtSSB headband, Ozone socks. Doing my hair this way for the first time, because it’s so hot already for June.

Presenting the second in a series of Atelier Angel's highly anticipated lolita fashion sewing patterns, this pattern features two different looks for a fabric internally wired headbow. Design A features a triple layered bow trimmed with lace. Design B features a double layered bows trimmed with lace. The internal wire will help the bow stay perky all day long.

The pattern and instructions are completely computer drafted with detailed illustrations each step of the way with both English and Metric measurements. It's a great pattern for beginners who wants to learn and practice basic techniques such as turning corners, hemming, whipstitching, and using interfacing. The ePattern is available for immediate pdf download and prints on 11"x17" paper.

This pattern has been rigorously tested for accuracy and clarity, but please don't hesitate to send me a message if you run into any questions.

Don't know to sew? You can also purchase the finished headbow in black, ivory, or white here: http://atelierangel.etsy.com
