just a note for new followers ♪
preamble: if you're someone who's advocating for people not to steal art, you might as well consider that lifting and copying content from other blogs isn't a nice thing to do. even for a small thing like let's say this blog's pinned post: i saw a repeat offender had copied it and had just slightly edited it-- but they still used the same info links and general structure and thoughts i have here. like the exact same anti fanart posts and the topics covered. it's an improvement compared to when they would copy my posts 100%, but geez. i guess it's a form of flattery when people copy what i put here; but rather than copy, just link or reblog. or just make / find your own if it's applicable. in general, i'm tired of some people using my archive (mostly cybird stuff) as a content farm of things to place in their own blogs on this -same- platform. again: reblog, or source stuff on your own: instead of looking through my blog to replicate the exact same sourced content-- find it yourself. copying the same style / descriptions- down to how i tag things is meh. to be clear, one or two things similar is nothing, but a complete combo of everything i do is something else. i've addressed it in the past, but i guess it didn't stick. it's okay to draw inspiration from something, but damn, don't keep coming back to copy more / use me as a directory of what else you can add to yours. it's someone's hard work you're trivializing. yay for pinned posts! ✩‧₊˚
heya~ thanks for following me! please take note of the following:
- 2021 blog status update here ☆
- for game questions or concerns, please send me an ask instead of sending me a message. explanation here ☆
- never ever pin any of my fanart posts on pinterest
- never ever repost any of my posts (especially fanart) on instagram, facebook or any other platform
- on discord or facebook / other platforms: just post a link to the image post (not just the image -- the link shouldn't end in .jpg or .png) instead of saving the image and uploading. there's a preview and it wouldn't kill anyone to click a link
- do not add personal works / additional images / personal links to fanart posts*
- do not save fanart and use it as your profile picture or header. even if you credit the artist, without permission it’s still art theft (more info: here and here)
- do not remove my post captions. it usually has some sort of credit / source info. i never post anything without a caption, so if you see a post reblogged from me without one, it must have been removed somehow. please tell me. ☆
- do not take anything from my blog without asking me. it is from my blog so please, always ask before you take. at least count the effort i made to make things easier for everyone by bringing stuff here for easy viewing.
so yeah, for gifs i made or any other post on this blog, -always- ask me and link back to it if you’re going to take / use it. basic courtesy for the effort i put into everything i post! ✿
if you see anyone using stuff i’ve posted or any other artists’ work without permission, please either alert the person and ask them not to repost or message me and i’ll do it (even tho i always feel awkward whenever i do lol)
i know some people are unaware of what is considered art theft, or that artists suffer a loss when people do it sooo thankies for reading! ♡
*this is something not most people know, but since the artists aren't the ones posting their art here and can't monitor it all the time, they want to be careful of what's associated with their work. some have asked me to strictly not allow additional images and personal works like drabbles / links added to their art, so i usually ask people to remove any additional links, images or gifs they add to fanart posts. for my normal posts, you guys can add whatever you want since i'm fine with anything. these two: this post and this article are also worth looking at regarding additions and why it's a sensitive topic for some int'l artists. just for info: i let the artists check my posts / show them reblogs. ♪
