why do i get so angry when americans (generally white, generally men) say they’re apolitical? because politics is no longer about politics. (in some ways, it never was.) politics in this country is life and death. it’s about survival. $15 minimum wage? that’s about survival. lgbtq+ rights? survival. recognizing and supporting BIPOC communities? fucking. survival. and if you have the privilege and the audacity to tell me you’re apolitical, all i hear is that you don’t give two shits about anyone other than yourself.

I think we as a community should encourage buying Harry Potter merch from independent creators or second hand. Etsy and Redbubble have great stickers and products that are Harry Potter but not official, therefore not giving JK any money. Thrift stores have the Harry Potter books and I actually bought my copy of Cursed Child from one.
