how is everyone not wailing and shouting in the streets everytime a new james webb telescope image comes out how are people not immediately rent asunder by the terrifying beauty of space with every new release

does this image not make you want to rip your hair out in a public setting? look at neptune's rings and tell me again that anything else matters

I really like how many of the world’s most iconic structures and places are just right next to some of the most mundane stuff imaginable, for example

Stonehenge

Is right next to a busy road

The Pyramids of Giza

Are at the outskirts of Cairo

Niagara Falls

Are part of the town of the same name

And Agrippa’s Pantheon

Is crammed inside downtown Rome

It just so interesting to notice.

it’s a ptenopus garrulus, aka Common Barking Gecko, which lives in Africa! The video doesn’t show it well, but they have goofy froglike faces!

by sheer coincidence, there’s a completely different kind of gecko endemic to Australia (underwoodisaurus/nephrurus milii ) which is also called the Common Barking Gecko:
