It's always been a headcanon I've enjoyed for her given the emphasis Moonshadow culture puts on strength vs weakness and how it can interplay with that (something I also sometimes headcanon for Callum to be juxtaposed by him being like, a very powerful mage when he grows up lol) but both of those are 90% because I was a Very Premature baby (like almost died / was in the hospital for a hot second level lmao) and there are almost never premature babies in anything despite the fact it can... Really effect you and your family even beyond the like, heightened mortal salience, so it's a small thing I always like to see more canon rep for. Tommy from Rugrats, that one puppy in 101 Dalmatians (it's close enough ok), and Hiccup from HTTYD my beloved

Oh I think it'll be like, a desperate pleading speech as she fights him (that may or may not end with her letting him stab him / stabbing herself to try to break him out of it) all about reaffirming his identity. Callum's identity has been an undercurrent for most of the saga but especially since the beginning of S4 -- "I know it's my official title but all that high mage stuff is so stuffy. Just call me by my regular name" / "I was his puppet [...] what if I'm on a path of darkness?" -- with S5 just taking it up a notch ("You completely lost yourself").
But Rayla has always been super entwined with Callum's identity arc (and him hers -- "That's what makes her a hero, that's what makes her Rayla" / the chasing shadows short story / "She's not 'the elf,' she's Rayla") so I expect that to come to fruition, i.e. "I'm not really anything" "You're a mage" (1x03) / "That's your name right, Callum?" (1x04) / the speech to Sol Regem in 3x01 / "Callum, you're the 'destiny is a book you write yourself' guy" (4x07).
Which if he loses himself, as Finnegrin says, and then also finds himself because of Rayla, that plays nicely into her light in his darkness symbolism, their salvation-destruction pattern, and his Viren parallels, since love also doomed Viren (his dream flashbacks with Soren) and saved him (him largely getting off the path he was on because of Claudia) as we see in S5. Love is more complicated than being Just Good, but it's absolutely not Solely Bad, either. Two cakes, y'know?

Not really any angsty ones - pregnancy isn't something I think too much about Rayllum wise (I think more about Sarai's pregnancy with Ezran and Tiadrin's pregnancy with Rayla for some reason) beyond the general headcanon that while they marry young (ages like 20-21) they actually wait like 4-6 years to start trying - but I do have a few!
- A very old (i.e. written post-s2) drabble of Callum talking to their baby
- Some sparse headcanons here
and some more upon request
- Rayla is pretty active (other than heavy first trimester fatigue) but eventually the swollen ankles and soreness catch up to her and forces her to slow down and take more bed rest. She is not a happy camper
- Callum asking a million questions (until Rayla tells him to shut up because she cannot describe how sore her boobs feel one more time) and reading everything he can get his hands on about pregnancy, trying to translate things over for what to expect for an elf-human birth (if there are differences) and doing research on old-ass texts that mention halflings from before the Exile
- Ezran cries when they tell him (and they're the first person to know outside of each other) and cries again when they ask him to be godfather
- Sky magic spells being used to help with her breathing and practice for the birth
- Despite being pretty young, Callum remembers Sarai's pregnancy with Ez pretty well, and there's a bittersweet quality to Rayla's, even more than his parents never getting to meet his partner, but that they'll never meet their grandchild either
- They receive an eclectic array of toys/presents for the future crown heir. Gifts from the human kingdoms from the monarchs & various diplomats (only Aanya manages to get them something they'll actually use) and gifts from Xadia, of course, particularly fine ones from Zubeia (one of her dragon scales which has magical properties) and from the baby's great aunts Janai and Amaya. Callum and Rayla need a whole room in the castle just to store everything
- Rayla gets a lot of cravings and Callum eventually buckles down to learn how to make moonberry surprise for her, even if it's trial and error
- Pregnancy is also what gets her over her reservations (finally) of crying in front of other people bc her hormones/emotions are a mess, this is her family, and she's gotta get used to both of those things sometime
I keep thinking about a lot from the season, but the thing my mind is focusing on today is how both Rayla and her mom reacted VERY similarly to seeing their loves being in pain (at the hands of mages, no less). Even similar wording. Like mother like daughter. My heart. End me.
