“Fuck the coronation. Feed the poor.”
Instead of celebrating the coronation on Saturday, May 6, consider donation to the Trussell Trust, which supports over 1,200 food bank centres across the UK.
my mum works for the Trust, and they’re currently trying to come up with action plans to get into smaller towns and villages, because the need for food banks has ballooned and is near universal, especially for elderly & disabled people and in rural areas. please consider contributing financially, or dropping some cans in the donations basket on your next shop.
slash ships to get to know me
saw someone do this and it felt fun, so let's do this!
- Kunzite/Zoisite. The OG. The first fanfics I ever read were about these two, they were by a writer called Soylent Green and I recently found that their page still exists on the internet to this day! What can I say, this ship changed me. I got into Sailor Moon late and then never really progressed past Season 1, but I loved those characters and got hyperfocussed on Zoisite when I realised he wasn't a woman. It's like he transitioned in my mind and was suddenly an adorable gay man. At 15, that was an eye-opener.
2. Herbert/Alfred. I cannot stress enough the euphoria I experienced when I was told that there was a GAY CHARACTER in this new musical about vampires (and it genuinely was new, at the time I found it would've been going for only five years.) I made up so many details about these two over the years they might as well be my OCs.
3. Sparrington. I shipped them for a really long time but nowadays it's more the dynamic between them that gets me, not the actual idea of a romance as such. There are probably characters in Pirates of the Caribbean that I believe in more as a romantic duo, but these two are just fun, and even though I never quite figured out what series of events exactly I want them to be involved in, I haven't lost interest in twenty years.
4. A fictionalised version of Danny Elfman and Tim Burton as original characters lives rent free in my head and I have a fondness that will not go away. (Rationalising Real Person Fic because I've grown up enough to realise one needs to be respectful to the actual living people while still allowing oneself to be inspired? More likely than you think! XD)
5. Aubrey/Maturin awoke a history obsession, and a love for more complicated relationships than the simple normcore "love at first sight, then sex" narrative. Are Jack and Stephen even a couple? Are either of them aware of their homoerotic undertones or do they live their entire lives oblivious? The plot always thickens.
6. Lord Byron and Percy Bysshe Shelley are a somewhat more recent addition as of the last few years, guided by Julian Sands (R.I.P. T__T) towards Gothic. I love the whimsical toxicity between these two. Everything is awful and there's so much room for interpretation. Perfection.
I’m not bitter

Literally every movie adaptation ever: Henry Jeckyll is just a poor victim of his evil side Mr Hyde!
The Actual Book: Henry Jeckyll is a weird fuck who turned himself into a monster man because he wanted to indulge in doing horrible things without fear of getting caught

“This photograph of Joni Mitchell skating across Lake Mendota in Wisconsin is unreal to me. I love the negative space in the photo, and how it gives the sense of total freedom.”
