Way too obssessed about way too many things...bsg, dc, mcu, 100, hp, star wars, asoiaf/got, shadowhunters, Vikings, Black Sails, Gotham, Degrassi, Merlin and way more....

“venom is bad” I’m sorry you’re too straight to appreciate Cinema

literally only straight ppl fail to see the fucking beauty in this romcom. how is “I am venom, and you are mine” any less romantic than the lady fucking the fish in shape of water. in this essay I will-

I’m at synagogue on Saturdays, but if my pager goes off, I drive in to the hospital, because saving a life supersedes the Sabbath. Many people I meet believe that my faith is at odds with my career. But my work allows me to practise the medicine that interests me while helping a marginalized community. I deal with patients who, by and large, have had negative experiences with hospitals and the health care system, and I give them the care they deserve. That is very much in line with my religious practice.”

“And that is the real source of discomfort: many Orthodox people see gender-affirming surgery as an admission that God made a mistake. They see me as calling God out on that mistake by correcting it. Which is odd: nobody’s accusing God of screwing up someone’s pancreas when they have diabetes or suggesting it’s a sin to inject insulin.”

^^^^^ A thousand fucking times this!!!

Congratulations, Armand and Treville! I’m so pleased you’ve successfully solved EVERY SINGLE PROBLEM facing France which obviously you have if you’ve got nothing more pressing to attend to than this contest that is essentially you two boys saying MY daddy personal private army can totally beat up YOUR daddy personal private army.

(And here I’d beren thinking Treville was the calm reasonable one.)

Well, okay, it could be argued the contest is really Louis’s idea (which is how you automatically know it’s stupid), but since Armand and Treville have by this time managed to pretty effectively wind each other up,

it sounds like a SUPERAWESOME idea to them, even though they of all people should know better.

At least in the end d’Artagnan does FINALLY become an official Musketeer* which seriously about time, but I just wish the third to last episode with Armand had contained a lot more substance and a lot less Vinnie Jones.

*We’ll overlook the part where d’Artagnan had no business even being part of the contest since he WASN’T one of Treville’s Musketeers when he did the fighting which was kind of the whole point of the thing in the first place, but whatever.

I find it so sad that we live in a time where basic animals like lions, elephants and giraffes have become vulnerable/endangered, like these animals are easily one of the most mainstream and easily recognizable animals there is, if you tell a kindergarten to draw some animals they would without a doubt at least include one of these 3 mentioned and now these animals are classified as threatened animals? And the saddest part is that most of their decline have only happened in the last century.

Why are people still up in arms about AO3 needing donations to run? Their budget is publicly available. You can go onto the website, right now, and read it. If you donate more than a certain amount (pretty sure it’s more than $10), you can vote in their elections, because you’re considered a member, and that’s how memberships work.

It’s a free site to use, but not to run or to maintain, especially not with all these net neutrality battles.

Here’s a list of the OTW’s projects.

Here’s its Terms of Service.

Y’all gotta understand that it’s not just fanworks, there’s a lot more that goes into archiving.

Signal boosting this because it’s important af. OTW is a nonprofit organization, specifically a public charity as classified by the US tax code. That means they file a 990 tax report each year that lets you see all of their finances – what they’re spending money on, where their money comes from, etc. You can see their 2016 990 here if you’re so inclined.

And if you’re not sure about how OTW is using their donations? Ask questions. Get involved. Even if you’re not comfortable with or not in a position to donate, there are lots of opportunities to give your time; it’s an all-volunteer organization that recruits regularly. I know for a fact that I get more value out of what OTW provides than most, if not all, my other paid services combined, so $10 to be a member is more than worth it.

ao3 is routinely used as an example of an excellent digital archive in library and information schools - they’re not just a fansite; they’re held in high regard by people across the industry. they run initiatives to preserve old fansites and groups, in addition to the day to day work of hosting all of our work ad-free to ensure maximum creative freedom. ao3 is not just a place to post your fic; it catalogues and preserves our history and culture.

I feel like people who complain about AO3 either weren’t around before we had it, don’t have any idea why/in the wake of/in response to what it was started, or underestimate the amount of time, resources, and effort necessary to create and maintain such a resource.

Because otherwise, they would just have to be jerks.

So Minnesotans showed the fuck up tonight (like we do) - thousands in the street protesting tr*mp’s latest executive disorders. And guess what happened? The old proverb “What if an emergency vehicle needs to get where it’s going” came to life, and the sea went silent and parted to allow it through (swiftly…literally the truck was going about as fast as, if not faster than, it would have been if there had been cars it needed to go around).

Please share this. This was a rare occurrence where an emergency vehicle needed to go through the route of a protest, when usually they have predetermined alternative routes, and it went completely fine. Also for the love of god, have more respect for firefighters/EMTs…they know how to do their jobs. They’re ready for anything, including working around protests.

So folks can stop using that tired old argument now (not that it was ever backed up by sources anyway).

It’s almost as though these protesters who are protesting for human rights are decent human people.

Thanos, the Great Liar

Say, Thanos, I recall you telling your adopted space daughter (who you routinely abused, by the way) that her home planet of Zehoberei was now thriving because you killed half its population - including her birth mother - because ‘balance was restored’.

Do you know what I think about that?

I think it’s nothing more than a

BIG

FAT

LIE!!!

So apparently her planet prospered to the point everyone spontaneously died? Troll-logic yourself out of that one, you insane oversized prune.

Welll… TECHNICALLY he would point out that

  • No one is starving on that world
  • The crime rate is reduced to zero
  • The economy is very stable.
  • Pollution is no longer a problem.

It’s all in the spin….

i mean, as the last survivor has twelve counts of murder, in actuality the crime rate is 100%, so- how’s it going, thanos
