NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh and U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez appear poised to join forces for a livestream of the popular video game “Among Us.”
Singh tweeted on Thursday that he would be playing the game live on Friday evening and asked Ocasio-Cortez if she wanted to join.
“Canadian Members of Parliament & US Members of Congress venting each other into space. What could go wrong? I’m in @theJagmeetSingh,” Ocasio-Cortez responded.
Among Us is a popular game available on computer and mobile devices that requires players to decipher who among the group is the “imposter” and is killing other crewmates on a spaceship.
Ocasio-Cortez previously streamed the game last month as part of her campaign to implore gamers to vote in the U.S. election. Her stream reached more than 400,000 viewers on Twitch at its peak, making it the third-highest performing stream on the platform.
According to Singh, the stream will begin at 7 p.m. EST on Friday.

A B.C. Supreme Court judge blocked a teenager from undergoing a gender-affirming double mastectomy in Vancouver earlier this month, granting the 17-year-old’s disapproving mother an order to stop the operation the day before it was scheduled to go ahead.
The teenager, who was assigned female at birth and began hormone treatment in July as part of their transition, was set to have the mastectomy last Friday. The mother sued the teenager’s doctor and cosmetic surgeon on Nov. 3, demanding they stop treating her child without her permission until the courts can rule on consent.
Justice Shelley C. Fitzpatrick granted the mother’s request and issued a temporary injunction blocking the surgery on Thursday, about 24 hours before the scheduled operation.
The CBC is not identifying the teenager, their mother and health professionals named in the case in order to protect the teenager’s privacy.
The woman said courts need to decide whether her child has the “mental and emotional fitness” and “maturity” to understand their “condition” and the irreversible nature of the surgery.
In a statement through her lawyer, the mother referred to her child as “caught up in a fad.”

The first time I’d ever heard of anything like the Lace Code was after I added colorful laces to these plain black boots I got (not Docs; I can’t afford those) to give me better ankle support. I felt the black laces on black boots looked too militaristic, so I get green and red laces for starboard (right) and port (left). A friend later warned me to get rid of the red laces before an anti fascist got the wrong idea and attacked me. I thought that it would be pretty messed up to get attacked for wanting a little more color but whatever.
I was trying NOT to look like a jack-booted thug, and apparently I was doing the opposite. But, how was I supposed to know that bootlaces could be used to make political statements?
I now have glittery gold laces on them, and I’m relieved to learn that gold it probably close enough to yellow to mean anti racist.
