As I was drawing this I sort of imagined this being them in college; where Will moved to another state and Mike finally go to visit him. But things aren't like when they were kids - and without the rest of the party there with them, the air between them is thick with change. Not that either dares speaking it into reality. 🤍

the origin of "lucas is bisexual" comes from him commenting on how seeing other black men as handsome was so uplifting for his self esteem, so why, even if people do believe that that was about sexuality and not race (it wasn't), does the fandom use it to push him into byclair or bywheelclair rather than uhhhhhhhh idk..... writing about lucas' attraction to other black men and the ways that dating another black boy could be healing and positive to him. interracial relationships are good, it will never be bad to hype up interracial relationships, but there is something to be said abt how people only feel willing to care about black characters' relationships with white people and white fans do not seem to ever want to read about or see black/black or non-white POC/POC interracial relationships
