Just watched ATSV and came home to watch ITSV right after. I CANNOT believe that I never clocked why Miles’ spider glitched. Never ONCE questioned it, just accepted it as a feature of the spider, but it was staring us right in the face this whole time

I like to think of Across the Spiderverse as a massive fuck you to Hollywood bigwigs that keep treating animation like it’s an inferior form of storytelling only for children as they churn out live action remakes of animated features less than 5 years old because that’s the only legitimate form of cinema.
This movie proves that animation is a legitimate art form and no less powerful than live action.

The Spiderverse movies already curbstomp No Way Homes sad attempt at adapting the spiderverse story but it is hilarious how across the spiderverse really highlights just how little impact toms peter has on the spiderman mythos overall. Theres like 3 direct references and 1 swipe to the mcu but nothing of them are about peter nor is peter even directly featured like everyother prominent version of spiderman in media. Fucking the spidercar is included as its own character! Truly just little ironboy jr with no meaningful, lasting identifying ties to Peter Parker and his legacy
