It’s because you’re posting in the general Snape tag.

There’s some really very busy anti-Snape and Snape-hate tags that you can use if you’re looking to rag on his character - and the people posting there will welcome your thoughts with open arms.  

On the other hand, if you post in the general Snape tag, you’ll find his fans instead.  It should be of no surprise that fans of his character don’t think that he’s a sack of shit, as you’ve so eloquently stated.

…you sound really confused. Are you not aware that people track the tags? People aren’t trawling your specific blog looking to pick a fight, but by using the Snape tag, you put your post (whatever it was) in the direct sight of a fan who then disagreed.

If you don’t want people tracking the tag, then put the tag as the sixth (or more) tag and it won’t show up in the tracked tags, as Tumblr only uses the first five - but you can still find it in your blog.

Or, use something else for your own blog so you can find your own posts, or use an anti-tag if you want people to reblog and agree with you instead of disagreeing.

Or, y'know, don’t. But if you don’t, and you continue to post in the general tag, then don’t be surprised when someone disagrees with you when you slate their favourite character.

As for why people have positive opinions about Snape, they’ve read the Harry Potter series. It’s a great read, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.

Yes, he’s one of the most interesting characters. Yes, he’s often a dick. But if you think he’s literally the bad guy, then there is something amiss with your reading comprehension.

As I said, you can post where you want - but if you post in the general tag, you’ll have fans responding to you, which is what your initial post was complaining about.

It’s really simple - post in the general tag and either people will argue with you, or completely ignore you, or post in the anti-tag and find likeminded people who will like and appreciate your posts.

I don’t know why you’d waste your time posting negativity in the general tag where it won’t find the audience you’re looking for, but knock yourself out. I am sure you’ve got a truly original take on the character and a series of nuanced arguments that nobody has considered or comprehensively refuted in the past 8 years.
