Be careful then how you live, not as unwise people but as wise, making the most of the time, because the days are evil. - Ephesians 5:15-16 | New Revised Standard Version, Anglicised (NRSVA)
Proverbs 17:28 (NIV) - - Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues.
Christians need to realize that no one is going to be tricked into coming to Christ. We can’t draw people in with free food or a worldly atmosphere or slack standards. What attracts people is what keeps them.
So, be straightforward with the Gospel. Don’t try to look like the world so that people will be more “open” to you. That is exactly what Jesus told us not to do when He said not to hide our light under a bushel. You may look strange, but that’s the point. God has chosen to use the foolishness of preaching to bring people to Himself. That is His method, and we will never be able to improve on it.
1 John 1:9 (NIV) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
