I always liked the idea of Knights that are technorganic in nature. Shells of steel & circuitry, glowing with artificial light and echoing the sound of whirring motors. But when they expose what's underneath, the horror becomes more apparent. Clumps of veined muscle & sinew coat the interior, red with life & constantly pulsing. Seemingly cancerous in appearance yet fully confined within its shell, akin to a hermit crab.

But occasionally, like a hermit crab, the thing within outgrows its shell, & leaves to search for a new host. Steel may be strong & certain, but flesh is a defiance of entropy itself. When steel rusts away, life remains. Eternal.
