I feel like a lot of people brush aside the psychological aspect of Jake the Brick in praise of the Humor and cuteness. Other for the amusement for the fans, but it also serves to show just how expanded and complex the (AT) universe really is as well how small of a part of it we take part. Jake just wanted to sit back and be a brick in the wall and be along for the ride as if his own actions did not mean anything. Despite having limitless to change his size at will, he just wants to fit in with everything and everyone else—even if it means limiting his size and ability to that of a brick. However, he realizes that in the end it’s better to live life to the fullest the way you want rather than to let life just happen around you. Also, as soon as he exists, the wall collapses. Jake entered the wall assuming that his presence there was insignificant and had no effect on whether the wall would eventually crumble, but it turns out that he was essentially keeping it together. Even though the world is big and scary and seems to go on fine without you, YOU are important and are irreplaceable no matter how small you think you may be—not just another brick in the wall.
