Religious extremist and doomed Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) recently said that transgender Americans shouldn’t be allowed to use public bathrooms at all – and now a town in Alabama has turned that bigoted talking point into law. The city council of Oxford has just unanimously approved an ordinance that effectively bans trans citizens from using any public bathroom that doesn’t match the sex noted on their birth certificates.

Since it’s extremely difficult to change the sex on a birth certificate, the law effectively bans trans citizens from using public bathrooms at all – punishable with a fine of $500 or up to six months in prison. The move is apparently in response to retail giant Target’s decision to allow anyone to use “the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity,” which provoked a firestorm of criticism and a fruitless boycott among conservatives online.

I just saw the interview where Jay Z said him and Beyoncé chose to fight for their marriage so their kids see a different outcome for black men and women…in terms of broken homes I guess.

I just wonder why it took him so long, cheating multiple times, to make him realize this. You’d think if he really wanted his kids to see a different outcome, he wouldn’t have been cheating in the first place but oh well…it’s their marriage.

A man cheating on his wife multiple times and the wife staying is not a different outcome. It’s actually very common.

A man being faithful to his wife and family from the beginning…now that’s a different outcome that we need to see.

This is why I hate when ppl (especially men) are like “why y’all care about what they do like y’all in their relationship?” And it’s cause we’re tired of this narrative that it’s women’s (specifically black women’s) responsibility to fix what’s wrong in their relationship, restore it & forgive transgressions that they know their men wouldn’t even forgive.

I’m sooooo tired of black love /marriage stores centered on “he used to cheat on me left & right and now he settled down and realized what he has”. Like it’s frustrating.
