So the reason you can hear it is not because it’s actually playing a sound; it’s not. But, the screen shaking when the telephone pole thingie hits the ground sends a message to your brain saying that this is a really loud sound, and so, your brain sends out messages to your ears, which tell them that hey, there’s supposed to be a sound here, and so the ears automatically hear something that’s actually not there.

Pro-tip to young trans guys:

If a stranger misgenders you, please please please do not ever utter the phrase, “I’m a man.” It sounds very unnatural and immediately sounds overly defensive.

My advice? Just look at the person like they’re an idiot and, in the deepest voice possible, say, “Uh. Alright, then.”

Just act as though they made a huge and obvious mistake, and don’t get flustered. If you’re comfortable with it, handle the situation with humor and say something like, “Man, I know I’ve got a babyface, but I didn’t think it was that bad.”

People are saying that you should be unapologetic but the keyword here is “stranger”. You could be in danger if the person is transphobic, and you have no way of knowing their stance if you don’t know the person. So writing it off casually ensures the most low risk way of making your gender known.

HEY YOU

My mom is being abused like hell by her boyfriend and we would kick him out but he pays for our mortgage.

Literally last night he body blocked her, shoved her, demanded that she give him her phone so she couldn’t call the police, and when she didn’t oblige he grabbed her wrist and yanked it out. She locked herself in my room and he pounded on the door.

He did the typical abusive move- apologized and sweet talked her, rubbed her back, said that if she didn’t piss him off then he wouldn’t have done it. Guilt tripping asshole.

So we want to kick him out as soon as possible (probably with a policeman in the house) but mortgage is high and he’s the one paying for it. After a few months we can probably get back on track but right now mortgage is $1400 a month and we are broke as hell.

I’ll do math tutoring for $10 an hour which is super cheap but any money would help. Any reblog would help seriously I just want to keep my mom alive and us not homeless.
