star trek is a fun show! i love every woman. and spock.
It’s 3 am but tos is citrus flavour and tng is strawberry and deep space nine is grape and voyager is cherry and enterprise is blueberry flavour are you even listening to me
im so mad why wasn't riker at worf's bachelor party. he would have burned up a warp core to get there in time and he's literally the only person in the whole universe who would have had fun
The constable has become conveniently distracted enough to hide the data rods that's craaaaaazy
Inconsequential thing that bothers me is when people overuse the term t'hy'la as like, something approximate to the human concept of soulmates, when it's clearly defined as its own specific Thing... a friend, a brother (non-literal), a lover... a companion of great importance... When two men are closely, intimately bonded to each other. A boy best friend. #Bros. T'hy'la specifically describes the weird little thing Kirk and Spock have going on. This doesn't apply to just any pairing that involves a Vulcan
It IS vague. And that's kind of the point. It's for when you have a weird little gay thing going on. The loosely defined nature of this type of relationship doesn't negate that it's very much not just anybody ... if anything, imo, it most closely resembles the idea of "romantic friendship" which is commonly used to describe intimate but ambiguous same-sex relationships in a historical context (which is very interesting and I encourage you to read about it) but again it's still not 1 to 1 analogous because it is a Vulcan concept and aliens don't work like that
Nobody on this site has put as much thought into homoeroticism in an alien cultural context as I have
[ID: a tag from @punkbrocolis that reads "#what about that one scene on the Cursed Trek where they forget vulcan culture and have T'pol hold Hoshi's hand for three minutes straight?" /end ID]
Girl moment
Because some of you believe Bones would be the only human in a Star Trek muppets:
