i get overwhelmed sometimes, constantly lost in this thing we call life, and always half joking about the painful truth

I want to be the house that my children’s friends want to come to, because despite whatever they’re facing at home, they’ll know they’ll find a second family with me and mine.

This is a beautiful goal.

Across the Crosswalk

I just had the weirdest interaction where there were police cars trying to come up from the M circle at my school. A pedestrian stopped directly across from me at the opposite side of the crosswalk and we just stared at each other wondering when to go since you couldn’t really see when the police cars were coming up the road just yet. After we crossed we then turned to face the police cars as they drove up the road, but we also happened to look at each other at the same time. We slowly distance ourselves, heading towards the direction that we initially intended, but then at one point after a couple feet we turned back around again to look at each other. I wonder who you were... And should I have said hello.
