Maids, cleaners, janitors, and sanitation workers are all the most important people of civilization by far. Even 12 hours without them is VERY noticable and they simply need to be highly compensated for it

'Six AM', 1930 - William Wolfson

Everybody says "you don't want to grow up to be a janitor" until the janitors go on strike and suddenly the building becomes a disaster area because nobody is used to picking up after themselves.

They say "you don't want to grow up to be a garbage man" until the sanitarion workers go on strike and the trash starts piling up on street corners.

People pretend that these jobs are unimportant so they can pay them shit, but they are absolutely vital to the socities we have built.

my number one woman behavior is saying i’m fine with any pronouns and silently ranking people in my regard based on what they do with that information

This is George Costanza behavior

GEORGE: she he’d me!

JERRY: exclusively?!

GEORGE: the WHOLE evening.

JERRY: and this is the girl who had ACAB Land Back Fuck TERFs in her profile?

GEORGE: i told you, jerry! i told you that was a huge red flag. all performativity, no understanding behind it.

JERRY: i just don’t get it, who hears “any pronouns” and doesn’t even throw a they into the mix?

GEORGE: cis women on tinder, apparently!

KRAMER: *barging in* george! how’d that tinder date go?

GEORGE: terrible!

KRAMER: i warned you! jerry, i warned her, i told her “keep to hinge and her, there’s nothing for you on tinder” and did they listen?

JERRY: xe didn’t listen.

every moment of every day i am thinking about this tiktok

Lumpfish come in a variety of shapes and colors.

[He scoops up the fish, it spits water and he turns it toward the camera]

This one is stumpy and green. Very beautiful, very powerful.

[He picks up another fish and turns it toward the camera]

This is what a normal lumpfish looks like. It is more elongated, but still a vibrant blue color. Very beautiful, very powerful.

[He picks up another fish and turns it toward the camera]

This is one of the stumpiest ones we have. Its hump is very high. It is very stumpy, but yet very beautiful, and very powerful.

[He pans over a lot of fish, all looking up at the camera]

My fish army is ever growing, and soon I will over throw the world. Very beautiful, very powerful.

because of this tiktok, i frequently murmur "very beautiful, very powerful" at myself, and i cannot recommend it enough.

This dude, the one who's tiktok this video came from, is the greatest. The lumpfish dont flop all over the place like most fish would because theyre USED to being held, so they can be weighed and measured. He also keeps crabs, urchins, shrimp, lobsters, and starfish. He might have more, idk its been a while since I checked his tiktok.

But he's pretty great and I love this video so much, very beautiful, very powerful.

Reblogging with the explanation because some people in the comments were worried

Something I’ve learned about Tumblr is that the longer you’re here, the more likely it is that you’ll learn of a user who has, entirely unbeknownst to you, been nursing an overwhelmingly powerful grudge against you for several years.

while you were hitting the juul, going to college, having casual sex, driving your car, and eating takeout food, i died horribly under mysterious circumstances in a national park. and my body was never found again

The point is to laugh into a kiss, to laugh at yourself, to laugh w the world but not at it, to share your dreams w people who listen to them, to realize when you’re wrong, to apologize even if it’s years later, to eat the bread that comes w dinner, to dive into the sea even when the water is cold, to forgive yourself but not be blind to your self, to remember your friends birthdays, to look for luck everywhere, to be sentimental and unashamed of it, to admit when you don’t know, to hold a shell to your ear and listen for the ocean, to hold your own hand and not shy away from someone else’s, to stop and smell the roses and the night blooming jasmine and the freesia, to live outside your head, to know how to cook for when you’re joyous and heartbroken and ravenous and lazy, to not crush the spider but help it outside, to always rediscover who you are and allow room for others to do the same, to watch the sunrise, to keep flowers in your house, to not let hopelessness poison you
