The DNC rejected progressive Sanders-endorsed Ellison in favor of Obama and Hillary crony Perez as their leader.  Arguments were made that, on paper, both candidates’ platforms were nearly identical.  Even if this were true, why then would the DNC risk alienating the progressive wing of it’s party by choosing Perez?  Either 1) they aren’t so alike after all, or 2) the DNC establishment wanted to make a show of strength to send a message of control to the more progressive Ellison and Sanders supporters.  Likely, both. Consider signing up for Justice Democrats.

something that might be worth looking into

People who think a woman breastfeeding her baby is sexual seriously need professional help.

It’s not the people who need help. It’s our culture. We sexualize breasts in our movies, books, magazine’s, etc. Of course people are going to sexual breasts, even breast feeding. Breasts, in our culture, are sexual objects. We have to change the culture and people’s minds.

My Tumblr feed has turned into a bunch of Twitter screenshots and gifs. Are there political blogs actually posting news, information, and calls to action? Because that’s what I’m here for.

Include a comment when you reblog if I need to follow you or if you have recommendations on who to follow.

um guys?

canada is currently considering banning imidacloprid, which is apparently “one of the most widely used bee-killing pesticides in the world”. this seems pretty huge, so if you’ve got two seconds, add your name to the list! as of posting this link, they need just over 8,000 more signatures by february 21!

I DON’T CARE IF YOU’RE AMERICAN PLEASE REBLOG THIS SO THAT OTHER CANADIAN USERS CAN SEE IT

It’s important for Americans to see too! Canada isn’t the only country who needs to save bees!

Friend: Let’s just impeach Trump and get it over with.

Me: But then we have Pence in charge.

Friend: Fuck... who’s in charge after VP?

Me: I don’t know... Speaker of the House?

Friend: That’s Paul Ryan.

Me: ... who’s after him?

Friend: I have no idea...

Me: ...?

Friend: We impeach ALL THE THINGS until we get to someone worthwhile!

Acting Attorney General Sally Q. Yates, a holdover from the Obama administration, ordered the Justice Department on Monday not to defend President Trump’s executive order on immigration in court.
“I am responsible for ensuring that the positions we take in court remain consistent with this institution’s solemn obligation to always seek justice and stand for what is right,” Ms. Yates wrote in a letter to Justice Department lawyers. “At present, I am not convinced that the defense of the executive order is consistent with these responsibilities nor am I convinced that the executive order is lawful.”
The decision is largely symbolic — Mr. Trump’s nominee to be attorney general, Jeff Sessions, is likely to be confirmed soon — but it highlights the deep divide at the Justice Department and elsewhere in the government over Mr. Trump’s order.
