After like two years I’ve finally gotten around to finishing my companion design for Melkor
I’d like to do something with some super-bright, but tiny LEDs for the Silmarills - I’ve been really into the idea that they’re tiny, but absolutely devatating in impact
New characters for the Pokemon anime.
Here’s Professor Sakuragi and his daughter Koharu with her partner Yamper. This is his research lab that he built in the Kanto region.

middle: As for the Medicine Peddler from Mononoke cosplay, I would like to wear him on the Sunday of the Dokomi. Unfortunately I didn’t finish the sword on time, but finishing his kimono was a priority and it will mean less props to carry around during the day.

Bottom two photos unedited - To show my progress! Once my crown is finished, I’m done! Unfortunately this crown is too fragile and thin to travel safely so I’m making another with a light in it.
All that’s really left to do now is think about hair and makeup (Probably the part I’m the worst at. But I’m pleased with where I am) I couldn’t be more exited about Dokomi this year! It’s hurtling closer, hopefully I’ll meet it on time and Mairon will be ready for the ball.

With time closing in it looks like I won’t have time to make a second costume for Dokomi this year. All that means is I get to pull out an old favourite costume
All you really need to know about the ball costumes is that the LEDs in the crowns are remote controlled. And they have three rainbow settings.

Ideally I’d like a second outfit for the convention. I wanted it to be simpler than the coat.... but I don’t know which to go with.
I’m cosplaying Mairon but I’m way more interested in designing clothes for Melkor tbh
I’d say I’m a little more than half of the way through the embroidery on the back of Mairon’s coat.
Thuringwethil and Gothmog were late additions and whilst it was tough to get a picture of Thu, Gothmog seems to be impossible.
A golden prince was easy to love if you did not have to watch him picking wings off flies
- I’ll be cosplaying Laurent this summer so I did a make up and wig test for him yesterday. Heavily inspired by the wonderful art of @berahthraben (seriously go check them out if you aren’t already following them).
Can’t put into words how excited this makes me~
