Fae that keep uranium amulets, clothes made out of asbestos and bowls of lead-infused water around their residences as a human deterrent. They don't know why humans loathe these items, but for as long as it makes them fuck off, these charms are useful.

You do get the nuclear nerds who like uranium and want to try out their survey meters on it, and the geologists who are like "oh, is that Crocidolite asbestos?" but those kinds of people are the fun kinds

I know people say this about every instrument, but accordion players are a whole different kind of people. And not necessarily in a bad way, really. Hearing someone casually mention that they play the accordion, you're never really surprised, it just suddenly clicks: oh so that's what their deal is. Because you've been wondering about that ever since you met.

The accordion isn't a surprise, it's an explanation - in the context of "there's probably a natural explanation for this." The missing piece of the puzzle you didn't even know you were putting together.

Every other instrument can be picked up and put down at will. But the accordion is only played by people who were born haunted by a vague and eerie, yet relentless yearning to get their hands on an accordion.

christmas eve what about christmas adam

happy christmas adam to all men’s rights activists

Please stop pestering us with things like this. This has nothing to do with men fighting for their rights. Eve is short for ‘evening’. Please don’t turn activism into a joke. Thanks.

Someone isn’t having a good christmas adam

Christmas Adam: December 23rd. Comes before Christmas Eve and is generally unsatisfying.

Happy Christmas Adam everyone

a few days ago a coworker asked me to explain Hanukkah and I asked her if she knew what a menorah was. She said, “like the Northern Lights?”

I’m simultaneously haunted by and wild about this concept now. instead of aurora borealis, menorah borealis. menorah borealis

i’m not Jewish but now i’m also captivated by the concept of a menorah borealis, and I didn’t see anyone else drawing it. Hope you like it & hope everyone who celebrates has a lovely Hanukah. <3

The Confusion -> Art pipeline!

people keep trying to make "ladies and gentlemen" more inclusive.

I think we should go the other way around.

make more and more weird false dichotomies in greetings. "gamers and pianists". "oil painters and swordsmen". "vexillologists and entomologists". "chess masters and diamond artificers". "accountants and gendered individuals".

we need to be dropping shit into formal meetings to make people say "wait what? which one am I?"

I'm back?

I was pretty active on Tumblr from the start of 2015 through mid-2019, when I first came out as trans and started trying to figure out transition stuff and was looking for any information I could find online. Honestly, I didn't find much useful information here and when I found trans women on twitter in summer 2019 that was a much better experience and I drifted away from Tumblr pretty quickly.

But now things are happening on twitter and a bunch of you twitter people I've been following have come here and I was scrolling along earlier and seeing the posts from familiar people and it feels like a whole different experience from what I was so happy to get away from years ago.

sick of other trans people looking like a deer in the headlights when reminded that amabs can be nb too. there are really still people in our own community who think a nonbinary person is like. a woman wearing jeans

i've had people treat me visibly different after hearing my voice or seeing my face as if i'm some sort of predator or interloper. this attitude towards amab trans people especially nonbinary people really paints a picture of what the lgbt community thinks of gender in general

edit: if you're reading this on my blog there's more info in the tags

This is still the thing, eh? I read https://www.amazon.com/Yes-You-Trans-Enough-Self-Loathing-ebook/dp/B0797JMJ1B a bit over two years ago and started following Mia on twitter, which had always been a totally hopeless waste of a site for me, and within weeks found more AMAB transgender people, who were adults, who were actually doing transition things, who were actually willing to talk in specifics about their transition experiences, than I had in the previous five years when I was first starting to do transition things. And I mostly abandoned tumblr.

It was amazing! Not only people who actually remembered that AMAB people can be trans, but AMAB trans people themselves who often would admit to living in a specific country who would actually describe experiences they had had! Shockingly similar experiences to ones that I’d had, in many cases!

I’ve really drifted away from really thinking of myself as nonbinary, really more woman, but tumblr enby always seemed so very hardcore specifically enby, It’s hard to say exactly how much of that was just everyone else took AFAB for granted so what was not being taken seriously as trans at all to everyone else sounded like it would be super affirming to me if only anyone ever said those things to me.

Having seen some births now i can say that dog birth is amazing cos they just slip n slide out one after the other like a little conveyor belt. And theyre so little and unformed. And then UNGULATE BIRTHS ... are amazing for the opposite reason which is that 10mins after being born they are filing their taxes. Unless they are goats, in which case they are committing tax fraud instead

Goats are what is called a precocial species, which means that shortly after birth they are able to do many thimgs on their own, such as standing, walking, eating, and embezzlement
