Homophobia and ableism strikes again
listen, when i go to open my mouth & what comes out is 12 degrees of seperation from what the original topic was, u need to connect the dots bitch. think fast. i’m not gonna hold ur hand but we’re leaving now and visiting every topic along the line. wave it goodbye, don’t get hung up on it
everyone who reblogged this has adhd
that adhd feel when you
My favorite thing about this post is people with adhd fucking get it. Like, they know. They get the nuance. And, I always get messages from people who don’t have adhd saying “when you what???” and I don’t even know how to explain it
but if i don’t hyperfixate i’ll get depressed and die
*runs out of hyperfixations* oh god oh fuck *lies in bed feeling empty and useless for 48 hours*
*desperately digs through old hyperfixations* there must be SOMETHING
This explains a lot about my lack of asking for help when I clearly need it
me, buying colored pens: will you fix my executive dysfunction?
One of the most helpful things I've learned to do with ADHD is when I need to start a task, I don't think "I need to do this task" I think "I need to do (first step of task)".
I don't tell myself "I need to wash the dishes piling up in the sink." I tell myself "I need to get the scrub brush and turn on the facuet." That's easy, so I do it and bam, I've started the task.
"I need to brush my teeth" -> "I need to get my toothbrush wet and put toothpaste on it."
"I need to write this essay" -> "I need to pull up the assignment guidelines and open a word doc."
"I need to go to the store." -> "I need to put on my shoes."
Tasks are easily overwhelming when you constantly think about them in their entirety, so picking the most immediate part you need to so and only focusing/doing that helps to get you to start it with less anexity & stress.
Undiagnosed ADHD Bingo (v2.0)
Okay so I made a card earlier BUT the images were too small to make out :(
Hope this one is better! Feel free to fill it out & share/put your total in the tags 💕
Can moments of abundant stress make you feel like your meds aren't working? During busy time at work, it will feel like my meds wore off even though I could tell that they had kicked in a few hours before.
Absolutely! Stress (and similar triggers like anxiety and depression) can significantly exacerbate ADHD symptoms. HERE’s an article where you can learn more about it.
I don’t want to assume you are asking for advice, but I find when I am feeling stressed or overwhelmed, closing my eyes and taking deep breaths for a few seconds helps calm me down. Good luck!
Looks like the link broke, so here: https://chadd.org/adhd-weekly/feeling-stressed-it-can-make-adhd-symptoms-seem-worse/
do i make certain foods over and over again and then stop eating them for weeks bc adhd or is that just a me thing
I mean, I can’t say for sure because I’m not in your head but if you were diagnosed with ADHD and you do that consistently then they might be related.
hi :) so I think I might have adhd??? but i don't know if I do or if it's my brain tricking me into thinking I do or if everyone experiences these stuff or if it's just adhd stuff??? I've seen loads of adhd things I can relate to recently but that doesn't mean I have adhd right?? I feel like I can't bring it up to my family because they'll laugh at me and brush it off... Is there anyway I can know kind of?? Is it bad to possibly diagnose myself??
So, everyone experiences ADHD symptoms at one time or another. The differentiating factor is the frequency and severity of the symptoms. So, it’s not uncommon for a neurotypical to relate to some ADHD posts sometimes.
That being said, if you do believe you have ADHD, you can start with taking an online assessment. HERE is a short one, but there are plenty others. But I would still suggest you get a formal diagnosis. Self-diagnosing (any disorder or mental illness) is not recommended or reliable, especially if you have means to get a formal diagnosis.

This is random but your fun videos on tik tok are making me want to get into tik tok but I’d like to know some more tiktokers (? Is that the term?) who also make content about ADHD! Could you possibly suggest some or maybe even just share any tik toks about ADHD that you like so I could also like them and have more of that content on my suggested page? Sorry, lots of questions! I’m so happy I found your blog as someone who’s just now learning they have ADHD! You’re a huge comfort!
I have a few people who I follow for ADHD content:
There are definitely more but these are good people to start with.
But I’m so happy that you are finding comfort from my blog!! Thank you for sharing that!
Adhd 101: cannot pack a suitcase.
