Congratulations on being one of the only asoiaf artists who knows what auburn hair looks like lol everyone makes Sansa a ginger 😭 I have auburn hair just like how you draw Sansa’s and it always irks me that everyone thinks auburn is ginger!! Auburn hair is the color where some people definitively call you a brunette and others definitively call you a redhead—but never a ginger

Thank you!! That means a lot 🥲 and I feel that, Sansa my love, ur hair is gorge but tricky, tbh sometimes it’s hard to find her right tone, lights and shades are big part of the result as well. Anyway, auburn hair is beautifuuuuul. 💖💖💖💖

Tumblr Migration 2: Reddit Boogaloo

We all know about the Twitter immigrants, but there seems to be radio silence on what's happening now with Reddit users from certain subreddits doing a similar thing.

What's happening?

Reddit is restricting their API later this month and killing off third-party apps. An AMA (Ask Me Anything) with the CEO Steve Hoffman was held and it was clear that he would continue with the changes.

In protest, thousands of subreddits across the site are planning to go dark for 48 hours on June 12th. Some are planning to continue indefinitely until the changes are reversed.

Okay, so how does this affect Tumblr?

Some subreddits (mainly queer and left-leaning meme ones, don't worry too much about Reddit Atheists™ overrunning us) are encouraging their users to jump ship to our beloved - and beloathed - hellsite. There will be another influx of new users and many will be unfamiliar with how the site works.

What do us Tumblr users do?

Show them how to use the site; introduce them to the site's culture, tell them to reblog shit and curate their dashboard. Sorta like how we welcomed Twitter users back when they flocked here. Kungpowpenising optional.

I'm new from Reddit, what do I do here?

CHANGE YOUR PROFILE PICTURE AND BANNER TO SOMETHING OTHER THAN DEFAULT BECAUSE THIS SITE IS FILLED WITH BOTS AND YOU MIGHT BE MISTAKEN FOR ONE. This is the FIRST thing you should do after getting a blog.

Other folks can help you with stuff like curating your dashboard or creating sideblogs (or you can look shit up) but please, PLEASE just give yourself an icon and reblog some stuff so people don't mistake you for a bot

i think if we’re going to have conversations about consent we should talk about how consenting to something doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to be a good experience, and having a bad experience doesn’t necessarily mean someone violated your consent. this can apply to a lot of situations but the two i’m thinking of right now are sex and transition.

you’re getting it on with someone. you enthusiastically consent to having sex with them. afterward, you feel a little weird about it. maybe even distressed. maybe they did something you didn’t enjoy and in the moment you just didn’t say anything. maybe you just realized after the fact that you were not in a good headspace for sex and now your mental health is declining. that doesn’t inherently mean the person you had sex with violated your consent. sometimes it just means you need to take a break from sex or work on communicating your needs or boundaries better during sex.

and with transition, i feel like this is something that gets consistently overlooked but like. there will never be zero detransitioners. there will always be people who decide that actually transition wasn’t right for them. they could have had the best most thorough doctors in the world who did everything by the book and got full informed consent at every step. and some people are still going to decide they don’t like the changes and wish they hadn’t transitioned. that doesn’t mean that the doctors violated their consent, and that doesn’t mean that transition shouldn’t be available to anyone. it just means that we need to have more resources available for folks who detransition.

regret does not automatically mean someone did something wrong. regret is simply one possible result of having bodily autonomy, and i think we need to get more comfortable with that.

XXY (2007) dir. Lucía Puenzo Alex, a 15-year old intersex girl from Buenos Aires lives secluded with her parents in a fishing village in Uruguay. At birth, her parents decided not to have her operated on, in order for her to choose her gender. Therefore she still has both her sexual organs. However, she takes corticoids and is raised as a girl. Her parents have moved several times before settling down in Uruguay in order to live a quiet life and keep her from the mockery Alex previously experienced while living in Argentina. One day, however, Alex’s mother, Suli, invites a couple and their 15-year old son, Alvaro, for the weekend. Alvaro and Alex start a friendly relationship and spend a lot of time together under the scrutiny of their parents… (link in title)

PLEASE BABY PLEASE (2022) dir. Amanda Kramer Suze and Arthur live an outwardly traditional lifestyle as the Lower East Side’s most bohemian Eisenhower-era couple. The pair’s cage is rattled when they encounter a gang of sadistic, leather-clad greasers known as The Young Gents. Suze and Arthur’s initial thrust of fear evolves into confusion of thrill and lust. This sudden exposure to flamboyant masculinity unlocks the realization that Suze is an aspiring leather daddy who mistook herself for a housewife. Meanwhile, the perpetually sensitive Arthur finds himself falling into a spiral of desire after meeting the Young Gent Teddy. (link in title)

Is it wrong that I’m cool with “sex” being removed from the pride flag? They should bring back “magic” though.

Personally I think you’re wrong and an idiot but that’s just my opinion.

Fyi this isn’t a dig at people who are asexual or sex-repulsed. Gay sex was literally a criminal act in the parts of the United States Texas until 2003. A healthy relationship to both sex and your body is a major component of the human experience, but especially LGBTQ+ people. Yes this includes people who have a healthy understanding of their boundaries with regards to sex. To try and divorce the fight for LGBTQ+ rights from sexuality is both dangerous and ahistorical.

The “sex” stripe isn’t “have sex.” Mainstream society has no problem with people having sex. We don’t need a flag to declare our right to have sex.

The stripe means “have the sex you want to have, with the people you want to have sex with.”

And that includes “no sex, with no people.”

(For anyone who didn’t know: the pink (sex) and turquoise (magic & art) were removed because it was hard to source those colors for flags, not because of any controversy over their meanings.)

ok but after seeing ur sansa playing harp drawing, I can’t stop thinking of sansa being into like. death metal somehow. like this girl has been through so much and has so much anger that she can’t let out, and I love the idea of her (post-stark reunion, in Winterfell spending Quality Family Time w/ surviving starklings) just rocking out in her room alone and writing angsty rock ballads where she can scream her traumatized heart out. then just spends the rest of the day as normal as a Proper Lady

Okay I know Metallica isn't "death" metal, but if there's a song about Sansa anger then it's Master of Puppets.

Exclusive bonus content: outfit ripped from Cece Deville (I know Poison also isn't death metal). There's a "every rose has it's thorn"/House Tyrell joke that I couldn't make work.

Harold Prince: Yeah Steve, this Epiphany number is really good. Very dramatic moment. It’s the act one finale, right?

Stephen Sondheim:…

Harold Prince:…. Right? It’s the act one finale?

Harold Prince:… Steve?

Stephen Sondheim: Actually Hal, I was thinking I’d put in a good seven minutes of cannibalism jokes.
