when i was a freshman in college i wanted to dress up for halloween because i thought surely college students would have the spirit. so i elected to put together a whole entire Skull Kid from legend of zelda majora’s mask cosplay together and wear that fucking ensemble to college on halloween.
i step on campus and realize immediately that not one other person is dressed up. not so much as a cat ear headband. so imagine this fucking dude sitting in a class of otherwise normally dressed people looking like this. that was me. this was my 9/11
The thing about Miguel in the new Spiderverse movie is that I choose to believe that when Miles isn’t around or mentioned, he is a somewhat normal guy. (He is still a spiderman so I can’t fully qualify him as normal.) So yes, the Spider Society noticed that he would grow irritable when Miles was mentioned but I doubt anything could have prepared them for Miguel being so enraged during the chase.
To add to this, I think that Spider-Byte’s decision of letting Miles escape had less to do with Miles giving off good vibes and far more to do with the fact she was witnessing her usually serious but fair boss turn into a feral version of himself clawing at the fabric of reality just to get to Miles.
