Today I made:
Peppermint & Lavender bath
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp peppermint castile soap
- 1 tbsp vegetable glycerine
- Lavender Oils
Peppermint is known for being bright and uplifting. It is antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving and has decongestant properties. Peppermint is often used to give some relief when one has a cold or headache. It is also used to treat indigestion, respiratory problems, nasea, fever, stomach and bowel spasms/pain, asthma, intestinal gas and more.
Peppermint also carries many minerals and nutrients such as manganese, iron, magnesium, calcium, folate, potassium, copper, omega-3, vitamin C and Vitamin A.
Peppermint is not recommended for those suffering from heartburn or gallbladder inflammation. You can always use a different castille soap when making this bath.
Lavender is by far my favorite plant. It is used for its analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, anti fungal, antiviral, antibacterial, diuretic, and sedative properties.
Lavender is used to soothe emotions and it is known to please the senses. When inhaled, it can help reduce bronchitis, coughs, colds, congestions, flu, laryngitis, throat infections, whooping cough, sinus infections, etc. It also benefits in reducing aches and pains, cellulite, swelling, joint pain, sprains, etc.
Be sure to do a spot check to make sure you do not have sensitivity to this essential oil before you choose it in your bath.
When you mix Peppermint and Lavender, the lavender mellows out the cooling effects of the peppermint and it gives a calming benefit which allows for a relaxing, soothing, bath.

Creamy Honey Bath.
•1/4 cup of sweet almond oil (or EVOO) •1/8 cup of honey •1/2 cup of liquid castille soap (Almond) •3 tsp vanilla extract (optional) •5 drops essential oil (vanilla or whatever scent you’d like) Combine everything in a small bowl and whisk until the honey is completely incorporated. Add to your bath water as it’s running. Makes enough for 1 to 2 baths. Stores up to 3 months in a cool, dark cabinet.
Home made glitter soap crystals! (or whichever kind of shape you’d like to cut them into)
Bath Cocktail - Mermaid Bath
Bath Cocktail - When you combine two or more LUSH bath products (bombs, melts, bubble bars) that compliment each other in one bath. Typically consisting of similar fragrances and colors (although by no means does everything have to!), bath cocktails are a fun, unique experience only LUSH can provide! For the mermaid bath, typically, a Big Blue bath bomb and Sunnyside bubble bar are used, and I also know of people who use the You’ve Been Mangoed Melt! First, we start off with the bubble bar, Sunnyside: You will run your bath water and crumble a piece of the Sunnyside bar underneath. This will make your bubbles! The more of the bar you use, the more bubbles you get. It is packed with tangerine, lemon, and orange oils, so it will brighten the skin and uplift the spirits! The gold glitter is water-based, so it does not stick to the tub nor the skin, but it gives the bath water an awesome, swirly, glittery effect! A cream of tartar base is going to completely soften the skin, and those citrus-y essential oils will stick to the skin all day, leaving a lasting, silky fragrance. Secondly, once in the tub, pop in your Big Blue bath bomb!:
Big Blue is a best-seller! (And for good reason!) Big Blue is full of seaweed to nourish the skin, sea salt to detoxify, and lavender to calm the body and mind. Bath bombs are sort of LUSH’s version of Epsom salts. This bath bomb will turn your bath tub a beautiful blue colour and the scent is so uplifting and fresh that you will never want to leave the tub!
Thirdly (optional!), pop in a slice of the You’ve Been Mangoed melt: Bath melts are literally solidified butters and essential oils. This one is typically used because it too, like Sunnyside, has an uplifting, bright, citrus scent. This little melt has mango and avocado butters which will truly soften and hydrate dry skin. Lemongrass essential oil will also lift the spirits and work as an antiseptic! This adds that little extra “oomph” to your bath and will leave you and your bath water silky, fragrant, and gorgeous!
The Final Product!:
You get a swirly, golden-teal bath water which feels like liquid silk! The ribbons of gold will dance around your bathtub while little pieces of seaweed will make you feel like a real-life mermaid, swimming in the glistening ocean. The smell will be very bright, uplifting, and clean. You will feel incredibly soft and smooth once out of this bath - if you ever leave!

This detox bath is another great thing to help relax you, help to reduce cellulite and stretch marks and detoxify your body.
2 cups Epsom Salt (you can find Epsom salts in the bath section of almost every store) 1 cup Sea Salt ½ cup Baking Soda 2 tbs Ground Ginger 1 cup Vinegar 3 tbs Melted Coconut Oil 1 Lemon 1 Lime 1 Grapefruit
Step One: Mix all dry ingredients together
Step Two: Slice the lemon, lime and grape fruit
Step Three: Run hot water and slowly add your dry ingredients
Step Four: Add the vinegar and coconut oil directly after leaving the water running to mix everything
Step Five: allow the bath to sit for a couple minutes and then add your slices
Step Six: hop in and soak until water is cold
Epsom Salts draw toxins from your body and relive aches and pains. Baking Soda helps to soften and reenergize your skin. Sea salt helps to heal your body. Ground ginger increases circulation. Vinegar softens skin. Coconut oil helps to soften and smooth skin.
