Ah, yeah, that one is less related to Valhalla and more a reference to some of my own background :)
The usage of the runes is phonetic, so the first translation is correct, but doesn't look like what it is at all. Since elder futhark is kind of much older proto-norse and not that widespread historically, I used the rules for younger futhark; though in reality, if I really wanted to be accurate, I should have used short twig since my particular reference would be 10th century Iceland, which would have been settled by folks from Norway (who afaik did use short twig). All of this is speculation though, so I'm probably wrong anyways 🤷♀️ I'm no expert at runes or languages lol, I just did my best with what I could research 😔
r • i/e • f/v • t/d • u/v/w/y/o/ø • t/d • i/e • ʀ
Noting again that it's phonetic, plus there are no repeated letters, the possessive "s" is implied rather than written out and you roll the last r, this is my best guess at writing out [Refsdóttir]. The most obvious reference is: Steinnun Refsdóttir - which is part of it! The full meaning to me involves some long family history which is another story and is rather personal, so I'll keep that to myself for now :)
But fun fact! This is one of the meanings in my shoulder tattoo!
Hope that helps. I cannot stress enough though that I am absolutely no expert at runes or languages. There's a high possibility this is inaccurate. I'm just a casual hobbyist that made an attempt at finding an accurate way of writing what I wanted to convey!
