thinking about how, instead of processing his own trauma (childhood, almost mind break, losing Michael to the future, etc) Spock helps everybody else with theirs 😭

These scenes were such a good summary of their whole dynamic this season.

They were both trying to reach for each other: Spock insisting on coming himself, Christine frantically waving for him.

They were both trying to trust each other: Spock not giving up on her, Christine throwing on the EVA suit in hopes he would find her.

It took struggle: They didn’t see/hear each other at first.

It took a fight: a Gorn attack and a shipwreck that nearly killed them both.

But in the end: They reached for each other—ended holding hands—and the effort is what mattered.

Some sketches inspired by chapters 10 and 11 of Hate Me, Break Me (Then Save Me) because I've been loving it so much. (Again, don't look at these too closely, I'm still getting back into the sketching thing.)

Also, DISCLAIMER: I added a beard because of the length of time that's passed by chapter 11, but I'm not sure if that was the author's vision! If I got that wrong, I'm sorry. I do have an alternate version without the beard, just in case.
