Welcome!

Hello, I'm AyeforScotland and I've been here for too long. AyeforScotland started off as a Scottish politics blog campaigning for Scottish independence but has since evolved into whatever the hell this is. The fight for Scottish independence continues - I love answering asks about it. And naturally I also discuss wider UK and International politics as well.

As modest as I try to be, I'm particular proud of the community surrounding this blog and in my discord (YOU SHOULD JOIN). These are people like you who are reading this now who have educated me on a variety of topics over the past decade - and I'm still learning from them daily. I've also ran some amazing 24 hour hour charity streams for a range of charities across Scotland and the UK. So far those charities are the TIE Campaign, The Equality Network, Endometriosis UK, Galop, War Child & Cats Protection. I also co-host @theayesphere podcast every week with the wonderful @thebibliosphere. We chat about everything from politics to entertainment media, and do deep dives on games, TV and films!

Twitch - I play a variety of games on Twitch, I enjoy everything but like to focus on narrative, indie experiences. I also run community interaction games which are always a great laugh. Ko-Fi - My Ko-fi is for people who would like to support me in all the various bits and pieces I do to inform and entertain. It is hugely appreciated and often straight-up reinvested into providing more for you all. YouTube - I have a YouTube Channel I try to make content for when I can. I want to do more but time has been against me recently but there's some video essays I'm very proud of. There's also an archive channel for my Twitch streams.

Hello! I've been listening to old eps of the Ayesphere on Spotify (and loving them). I had 2 questions. 1) The 1st half of season 1 isn't on Spotify. Is there somewhere else I can listen to it? 2) I loved hearing you talk about your Scooby-Doo collection. Curious if you have watched the Scooby-Doo episode of supernatural. And if you have, how would you rate it as a crossover?

Hey! Glad you’re enjoying them!

Yeah the first half isn’t anywhere except YouTube because they were our test runs and we hadn’t sorted any branding or podcasting platforms yet. They are still available on YouTube though!

I genuinely think the first few episodes are around 3 hours long which is insane to think about now.

I haven’t watched any supernatural so haven’t seen the crossover - could I watch it in isolation or would I need to watch supernatural?

No, because at least half of the problems England has is Londoners not looking outside their bubble.

For me, independence is all about the democratic deficit in the UK. Scotland continually votes differently from England, and even when we do - we only get who we vote for because England has voted for them too.

For me, independence is all about the democratic deficit in the UK. Scotland continually votes differently from England, and even when we do - we only get who we vote for because England has voted for them too.

This is some niche Scottish party politics posting so I’ll try and explain this to everyone who isn’t as familiar.

Scottish Labour are the branch office of the UK Labour Party in Scotland. However, due to the slightly more left-wing nature of Scottish politics - they have to toe a particular line compared to UK Labour who are shifting more and more to the right to appease the right-wing majority in England.

Scottish Land Reform is a really hot issue. The vast majority of Scotland is owned by a handful of people so it could bring about some really positive change if something was done about it.

So Scottish Labour puts something out like this knowing that it’ll speak to the vast majority of people who believe in land reform.

But how it’ll go is the Scottish government (Led by the SNP and the Scottish Greens) will move to do something about it and will pass a bill. Scottish Labour will also support it.

The Scottish Conservatives will oppose it with the backing of the UK Conservatives, and use some UK legal nonsense to block or impede it.

Scottish Labour will then withdraw their support, and then put out a load of press releases about the Scottish government and the UK government needing to work together.

Scottish Labour did this with the Deposit Return Scheme, the Gender Recognition Reform Act and for Low Emission Zones. They will 100% do it with this one.

kay so I'm setting stuff up for a Dredge stream tomorrow and yall know how I like to closely mimic the art style of whatever video game I'm playing if I am able to?

well uh

this is gonna be a challenge huh

(for example here are a few i've put the whole calligraphussy into)

... if it werent for the fact that somehow digital art always eats WAY more spoons than traditional art I probably SHOULD open up digital commissions at some point

in any case, Dredge stream'll be Friday at 4pm est as per usual whether I get the final promo image done or not

I saw one that was like “This is the future of philosophy” and it was a conversation between an AI Bill Gates and and AI Socrates.

And it was embarrassing and awful.
