I had a friend growing up that was from Slovakia or Ukraine, I don’t remember which. I knew him from kindergarten to 2nd grade. And since there wasn’t a large enough slavic community for this kind of dancing, he did competitive ballet. He would constantly complain that it wasn’t hard enough. Guys, its competitive ballet, one of the hardest sports you can be in as a young person. Those C-jumps the guys were doing? In american ballet or dance you usually only get your chest to where you head was. They have their bellybutton or hips where their head was. That’s fucking nuts with out running or a pre jump. This kind of dancing was constantly going on at their house. I would like to point out that’s insane. His mom and dad dance almost every day. Not as high since age. But still.

Barry’s life takes a turn towards the surface when he rescues a man from drowning without a second thought.

Although swimming to the surface is forbidden by every law in their kingdom, the young merman can’t get the human’s face out of his mind and soon finds himself seeking help in dangerous places and making deals with the devil in an attempt to become human and find out more about his crush, Len, prince of the surface kingdom, as he later finds out.

Granted three weeks to make the man fall in love with him, Barry sets off on a dangerous adventure to steal the prince’s heart. But things turn out to be much harder than the merman had originally thought when Len reveals himself to be quite cold when it comes to giving his heart away.

Sub!Barry coming home from a bad day at work. He's restless and irritable until Len gets him a comfortable change of clothes, ties his wrists, and blindfolds him. Len strokes his hair and neck until Barry falls asleep with his head on his lap.
