Guys this is an actual issue. We had Hartz collars for my dog and he kept having seizures. one seizure he had on the stairs and fell backwards down the stairs, and he also stop breathing from these seizures. When I found out about Hartz causing this I took it off my dog and he hasn’t had a seizure since. And he used to have one at least every few months. DON’T USE HARTZ.

my sister and I got a cat in the middle of the night, and it had previously been an outdoor cat, so for safety’s sake, we got a flea medication (to protect the dog that was already in the house, and ourselves), and put it on the cat. thankfully, she didn’t react badly to it, but when we told the vet that we put hartz flea stuff on her the next day, the vet about had a coronary. yeah, it’s dangerous as hell, that’s why you usually don’t see it in petsmart, at least, no idea about petco.

There are other brands that aren’t so great, too, and pretty much any of them will cause these problems if you overdose (dose again too soon, use something for the wrong weight pet) but yeah, Hartz is the worst. Sentry has some questionable products, and frontline has been around for too long, fleas are starting to adapt to it. Most of the dogs that come into our grooming salon with fleas either don’t treat because they’re “inside dogs” (you can bring fleas inside with you, it doesn’t matter if they don’t go outside) or it’s winter (they can still get fleas) or they use frontline. Basically just do your research before using any chemicals on your pet.

This post has been circulating a bit and I’ve even gotten it messaged and submitted to me several times after I needed help, and I feel like it needs to be addressed. Almost none of these are of any use to people who need emergency funds. Here’s a rundown of all of the subs listed, just so people know:

Almost all of these subs have requirements on how long your account needs to be active (anywhere from a couple of weeks to several months, usually 90 days) and many of them also have karma requirements (you need to have made comments on Reddit that gained a certain number of upvotes) - meaning most of them are 100% useless for emergency funds.

I don’t mean any offense but - “I’ve never seen anyone actually getting any significant donations on tumblr and to be honest, tumblr is the worst place to ask for assistance” - OP must live under a rock. I’ve seen people able to pay their rent, feed their families for the month, cover emergency medical/vet bills and more because of the kindness of strangers on tumblr. I’ve seen people raise literal thousands of dollars. Is it easy? No. Does it happen to everyone? No. But I have a miniscule number of followers (I mean tiny) and when I made a post about needing help I got a surprising amount of random kindness in a very short span of time. I’m sure OP’s heart was in the right place while making this post, but they’re literally just wrong. Go to these subs if you need advice or resources, but you won’t find magic money flying around Reddit any more than you will on tumblr. I’d argue you’ll probably find less.

Anyways, I run a blog specifically for charity posts over at @boostsignal if any of you need help getting traction on your donation posts, and I’m also still in a bad rut myself, if anyone wants to spare a dollar to paypal.me/ohwolves :-) Please educate yourselves before sending things like this to people who are desperate for help.

Saw this somewhere else and felt the need to post it cause no one else ever really tells you this stuff

My mom never really noticed. She noticed when she was breast feeding my little brother and blood started coming out instead of milk. 

My mom said she felt and saw a little lump in the shower. She was lucky enough she found it at stage 2

My mom had a mammogram. The radiologist thought the spots were just regular calcium deposits. 

Turns out it was triple negative breast cancer that had spread to her lymph nods. Mastectomy, radiation and chemo saved her life.

This could SAVE a life.

Reminder that anyone who grew their own breast tissue can get breast cancer. That includes trans women, intersex peeps, and cis men who may not have been aware there could be some breast tissue in there. The only way to be sure you don’t have any at all is if you’ve had it all removed. If you’ve had tissue removed for reasons other than cancer, they likely didn’t remove all of it. If you find something weird, regardless of who you are or how you identify, get it checked out.

All of you should reblog this. Breast cancer affects everyone and there’s not enough information about it.

Richard Roundtree, the actor who played Shaft, had breast cancer. He found a lump under his nipple while in the shower. Everyone should do self exams.

Just so everyone remembers, this girl is a multiple rape victim who has been physically and sexually abused not only by her own family, but also by staff in DCF group homes. She “assaulted” a male staffer who GRABBED HER FROM BEHIND, a male staffer who has since been fired.

DCF lied to the court to get authorization to put this girl in prison, claiming that the staff she assaulted were “seriously injured” when the police report in fact says there were only minor injuries. And now DCF – not Corrections, but DCF – is petitioning to put her in a men’s prison.
