My dad died last week and I miss him so much. I keep seeing interesting stories and thinking of how I want to tell him about them... but i can't talk to him anymore. I can't believe it.

The last time I saw him he looked a hundred years old. He said he just wanted to hold onto me for a little while longer. When I had to leave him, he looked me in the eyes and he said "goodbye, sweetheart." I knew it was the last time I'd see him because he has never said goodbye to me.

When I see someone older than him, I think, why did you get to be that old and he didn't? Why did he get sick and die so suddenly when he was doing so much to take care of his health? He barely got to enjoy his retirement.

I miss you, Pop. I'll keep making you proud.
