experimenting with gender is like. imagine you're a small child and your mom buys buckets of ice cream for the family but the only flavour she ever buys is vanilla. so you go through life growing up thinking "this is how ice cream is supposed to taste like. it tastes like vanilla." and maybe you really like it but maybe you actually hate it and you just think you hate all ice cream. and then one day after you grow up you go to an ice cream parlour and realize that this place has 31 different flavours, of which vanilla is only one of them, and you're like ???? the heck?? and so you start trying all the flavours and some of them you're like ugh no this one doesn't taste good. and others you're like whoa this is amazing!! and maybe you find one that you like even BETTER than vanilla and you're like wow I can't believe I've been missing out on this the whole time!! I'm only gonna eat this flavour from now on!! or maybe you decide you actually like a ton of flavours and decide you're gonna get multiple scoops of everything from now on. or maybe you try all of them and then decide you actually still like vanilla the most even after trying all the others, so you go back to your vanilla and eat it happily for the rest of your life knowing that you truly love this flavour and you're not just eating it bc it's the only one you've ever known. tldr: gender is like ice cream

Hey, what if Kakyoin was alive? Do you think Jotaro and him would still be friends and keep contact? Even helping each other to fight stands? What are your thoughts on this?
Oh, they'd absolutely be friends!
I know a lot of people like to imagine Kakyoin in some sort of quiet and nerdy profession (i. e. a librarian), but I actually believe he would very much not get back to a calm and uneventful life after Egypt. He would embrace the fact that he is an introvert at heart, but would want to see more of the world and meet more people still. I imagine him working with Speedwagon Foundation, maybe even being fully employed there? Not to say he wouldn't want to get a higher education, but also my man is too deep into the adventurous side of life, he wouldn't just leave that behind.
Also, a big part of his character arc was him getting over his fear of Dio and finally taking control of his life. So there's that.
During the events of Diamond is Unbreakable, Kakyoin would come to Morioh under the pretense of helping Jotaro deal with the unauthorized Stand users (I like to imagine the Speedwagon Foundation collects data on all Stand users and their activity and catalogs it, and whenever someone new appears, they get suspicious and send an agent to check it).
So Kakyoin gets sent to Morioh, but ends up involved in the Joestar family business, and gradually becomes everybody's favorite uncle. And I say "uncle" because the actual family tree of the Joestars is so messed up, nobody has the energy to figure out how Jotaro's friend from Egypt fits into it, but they accept him anyway.
Meanwhile, Polnareff is in Italy and can't contact anyone without being discovered, and Kakyoin (with the help of the Foundation) does everything in his power to find him and get him and the arrow out of the country. He is eventually the one who gets sent there to check on Giorno (instead of Koichi, because literally why Koichi?), and his Stand is obviously much more suitable for inconspicuous stealth work. So he ends up staying in Italy for a while, gets entangled in the Mafia business, and maybe even changes something in the outcome because it sort of irks me that what happened with Polnareff went unrecognized by the surviving crusaders. But that's a whole different argument, not going there right now.
Anyway, Jolyne. Jolyne loves Uncle Kakyoin to bits. He actually gets a genuine honest emotion out of her dad every once in a while. Jotaro's life is a mess, his job is unfitting to his nature, his family tree is a cactus, his marriage is a mistake on both ends, and Kakyoin knows this, and while he can't fix any of that, he can at least remind his friend to have his priorities straight and focus on what's really important, because god knows Jotaro needs the reminder.
He is there when Jolyne gets arrested at the age of fifteen, and he gets Jotaro's ass there too, no matter how the latter complains and fears that his affiliation with the Foundation and long-lasting enemyship with dangerous Stand users may affect the kid's life.
You know how Speedwagon's legacy helped entire generations of the Joestar family? Well, Kakyoin may not have that much time on his hands between Egypt and Pucci resetting the universe, but he'd make the most of it. Everyone wants a quiet life for him, everyone likes to imagine themselves in his place - I do that too, but I think the happiest he's ever felt was when he thought he could prove himself to everybody by winning against D'Arby, and I think he wouldn't stop proving it, ever.
absolute funniest thing to me in part 3 is that joseph is using his stand wrong and dio uses it correctly and doesn’t break the camera. araki is so funny for that one
WRONG, Dio doesn’t use it to spiderman from rooftop to rooftop, which is the ONLY correct way to use it, obviously.

if you are distressed about not receiving a response from someone you'd like to be actively talking to, you have to take a moment. step back from the conversation, put yourself in their shoes. perhaps they're busy with something right now. you have to consider the possibility that maybe they hanging upside down by their ankle. everybody has their own schedule, and sometimes people spend time away from their phone or computer because they are currently suspended from a tree branch by a rope tied around their ankle that they unnoticingly stepped in because it was concealed by a pile of leafs. it's not that they don't want to respond; imagine that they can see their phone screen on the ground below but it's a good few inches out of reach and even if they bounce and flail on the branch their fingertips just can't touch it. sometimes life gets in the way
