Hello!

My name is Patroclus, but you can call me Pat if you’d like! I’m 22 and a senior in college, and I use he/they pronouns. I’m a biology major with a focus on pre-med.

My psychology class requires that we keep a blog of our life and analyze our improvement throughout the semester, so... here we are! I guess if you have any questions you can go ahead and ask them!

Pat: I like to play story based games, especially open worlds. Achilles is more... fighting games. Killing. Shooting. As long as he can get a ridiculously big gun and get into fights with strangers online, he'll play the game.

Pat: We play some stuff together, although Achilles tends to get too competitive.

Achilles: I'm bi, but I don't appreciate people touching me unless it's my partner or my family.

Pat: He's smacked away his teammates enough times for trying to give him a pat on the shoulder. It's not too far-fetched to say he wouldn't get touchy with his friends.

Pat: I do it for him because he's too lazy to do it most of the time. His hair would be all tangled if I didn't.

Achilles: (He really likes to braid it... so I made up an excuse that I can't do it myself because it hurts my arms.)

Achilles: Ah... no, she'd get weird about it. She'd try to start planning the wedding by herself or pressure me about when I'm gonna propose or ask about grandkids- all the usual embarrassing mom stuff. I'm sure it won't be that big of a deal when the time comes and I didn't let her know ahead of time.

Achilles: Ody never stops talking about what he does in the bedroom with Penny. It's... really gross, but I guess that earns him the place of "sluttiest."

OH achilles !!! my girlfriend is one of those #StressedSTEMTypes too, u know, super hot but they can never relax?? wanted to ask if u had any tips on how u help urs out when school is A Lot?

Achilles: Pat has the mentality that if he isn't studying, he isn't using his time wisely and gets super guilty. Or if he doesn't get the best grades, he's a failure and won't get into med school. I try to talk sense into him and encourage him that he's doing great, but it's a whole other story getting him to believe what I say.

Achilles: I just do the best I can to make sure he's taking care of himself and making time for himself and us.

Achilles: It seems to help.

On a psychological note, have you heard (I am not sure how true this is) any thing about how our brains can’t tell the difference between fictional characters and real people? So when a character dies or a book/etc. ends our initial reaction is actual grief to mourn them?

Just thought I would mention this, maybe because I cried harder than I should’ve at the end of TSOA.

(( I'm assuming this is for me since you brought up tsoa! I've heard the same thing as well. it makes sense since you got to know a character well like a friend and seeing their journey come to an end is like losing that friend.

I cried for 3 days after I finished tsoa LMAO... it was during a rly hard time for me and I found so much comfort in them so it was tough 😔))

Pat: Yeah, we do, but Achilles and his family are more into it than I am. We got her a cat bed and some new toys, but she was more interested in the box her stuff came in…

Pat: Thetis gave us a scrapbook she's been making of Achilles since he was born. She had told me before she was planning to hand it down to him whenever he was ready to settle down and start a family so he could add to it himself.

Pat: It was... a big honor, really, but also a not-so-discreet hint that we should get engaged. Kind of embarrassing.

Pat: I am grateful to be able to have a family to celebrate with and a partner in life to plan the future with! As cheesy as it sounds, that's the only gift I need.
