i feel like tags like these (& there are several ppl in the notes talking abt conservative trans ppl specifically) are missing the point. while this sentiment definitely applies to prolific conservative/fash trans people it's not much of a statement to say an open fascist would support fascism. these people (at least blair and caitlyn, idrk buck angel's deal) are fascists first and trans second and would be running under the assumption of getting an exemption as reward for selling themselves out. this is more about trans people who maybe consider themselves liberal or leftist, who think their politics & identity puts them at odds with authority and fascism but who willingly engage in online witch hunts of other trans people, who view it as rooting out the Secret Monsters in their own community, who share cancellation posts of trans women uncritically, who view themselves as ontologically incapable of violence. there are already lists made of the allegedly problematic, predatory, capital-E Evil trans people (who deserve nothing but scorn, alienation, erasure and/or death) shared widely on social media and the trans people who make and share these would gladly hand over such info to the authorities if they could justify in their own minds that these people would be Getting What They Deserve. Even if the accusations are justified (which they are often not, and very often just stem from anti-kink/conformist respectability politics rather than any actual harm done) we need to be able to recognize this cop behavior for what it is and how it incredibly easily plays into the hands of those who want us all in the ground. In the eyes of transphobes we are ALL perverts, we are ALL groomers, we are ALL degenerate and differentiating oneself from the "real" Monsters will not matter one bit in the end.

why have us queer people as a community normalized terms like "boygirl" or "girlboy" or other things like that but not like. the actual experience of being multigender. i swear some people will be like "ahaha its so cool and swag to be a #girlboy #boygirl" then turn around and be like "MEN DNI THIS POST IS ABOUT WOMEN" "MEN CANT BE LESBIANS (because no man is ever a woman too)" etc etc like come on guys

This queer movie review podcast is talking about 70s glam rock fashion (a favorite of mine) and the one host says "an effeminate man is his true self, because masculinity is fake, the only way to be real is to be feminine"
Like, what the fuck? First of all, way to discount generations of queer people, and displays of queer masculinity, great job. Second, tell me you've never spoken to a trans man or a butch or literally anyone who's ever been forced into a feminine social role or feminine presentation without telling me.
I hate how pervasive this attitude is. I hate how it makes it uncomfortable, at best, to exist in queer spaces as someone who is not, can not, and does not want to be sufficiently feminine.
anytime ppl tell me masculinity is inherently restrictive and violent i think abt the fact that peak jewish masculinity is studying talmud and taking care of your family and giving your wife multiple orgasms.
The derision of masculinity by queer people is, weirdly, what taught me that I am actually perceived as masculine.
Internally I feel like a quite effeminate gay man. I can be very expressive and I am sooo sensitive, I love pink. I listen to all the pop girlies, etc.
But I don't have a fashion sense. I wear basic clothing, I don't like Drag Race. I am therefore Not Femme Enough, and get judged in queer spaces. And it's just baffling. My whole ass life I was chided for being too femme to be straight, now I'm too masc to be gay.
This is why nuance matters. Why "toxic masculinity" was a bad label for the phenomenon, because people are too fucking stupid to conceptually separate the toxicity from the masculinity.
And this shit is why I push back when other gays say "I hate men." Because bestie noooo. We're literally gay. We ARE men and we LOVE them. Men are cool and sexy and wonderful and kind and yeah, sensitive too. Men are amazing, it's white patriarchy that's the damn issue.
