Serious Comedy

@aseriouscomedian

Hey, I'm Ben. Just a 27-yo guy taking life one day at a time.

Me: "I cleaned my whole kitchen yesterday"

Neurotypical friends: "okay? Do you want a medal or something?"

Neurodivergent friends: "omg. I'm so proud of you!! Gold star! Cleaning kitchens sucks! Send me a picture!!! Look at them counters. Treat yourself, you deserve it"

Too true.

i love one (1) disaster wizard

It’s a good metaphor tho, because the situation is never going to get better if you don’t eventually pull the door. And afterwards, no matter what the damage was, you’ll have a working cabinet, whatever plates you could salvage, and a place to start putting new plates.

Reblogging for that comment ^

Hats off for negative jokes turned to wholesome posts

So this was me for a long time. Afraid to open the door, certain that all that I was would crash and break. That I could never be repaired.

But I opened the door.

And what fell out and crashed to the ground was not me. They weren’t my dishes.

They were other people’s dishes.

Put inside we without my permission, when I was too young to know that I could not hold them all.

I opened the door, and I’m still here.

It turns out, I’m not that fragile.

Oh damn it got better

Q:What is crab day?

A: well, a celebration of how strangely cursed our little corner of the internet can be. It's also a community lead funding. Push. Tumblr costs money to run, if we want to keep our little corner of the internet it's weird unique self, we're going to have to foot part of the bill.

Q: when is crab day?

A: July 29th. I would have preferred a slightly longer lead time to get the word out better, But we work with what we can get and July 29th has already gotten some traction in other groups.

Q: how do I participate?

A: buy a mutual crabs, or if you're broke, crab post crab memes.

Q: why crabs?

A: because admit it. most of us would love to get or give crabs to a mutual.

Okay so I did some research, very basic research, on the user base of tumblr and how many of us there are.

There are at least 300 million unique visitors worldwide on this site. Over 500 million blogs.

Listen. Tumblr is $30 million in debt. This is Super easy for us to solve.

If each user gifts one blog crabs, which costs slightly over $3, that would be roughly $600 million at least. Far more than enough to get Tumblr out of the red zone.

If we want tumblr to stay afloat and not change something as integral about their operating system, we need to show them they can be profitable without reducing themselves to common social media sites. What we have here is special. It is different. We are the social media site people run to when theirs collapses and for good reason.

If we want this to work, we have to make it work. We can even make it into a game. Just how long can we outlast the other social media sites?

Yes that’s exactly what I’m saying.

It needs to be a holiday. Pick a date a few weeks from now, and just make it Crab Day. Maybe a Saturday as a lot of people are paid on Fridays. Just in case this post becomes more popular than any I've had before, lets set the date as the last Saturday in July (which for us in 2023 will be July 29th.)

On July 29th, gift as many crabs as you can without breaking the bank. Post crab memes if you cannot afford a crab.

Tumblr can pull this off. Tumblr likes doing things like this.

Guys there's an account for this now @crab-day-counter

Dr. Teerapy and Sir Rebral, therapists, welcome you to the L.U.M (Liberate Ur Mind) Institute!

They have settled their offices near the Menhir Hills to help out the citizens of the Glade overcome all sorts of troubles.

Teerapy specializes in heroes and benevolent creatures, and his office is decorated as to remind one of the Woods of Light. He is a kind and soft-spoken teensie, and yet has a little Edge to him that can appear below all that softness when necessary.

Rebral specializes in malevolent and villainous beings, and his office is decorated like the Hall of Doors. He is the same species as Count Razoff (but they are not related (and he dislikes the bastard)), and is the therapy equivalent of a mad scientist - utterly unhinged at times, and yet takes his work extremely seriously and is actually Very talented at it.

They're best friends. :)
