Dreamwalking

Yo, I'm Arkán Dreamwalker. No relation to Anakin Skywalker, any similarities to persons real or fictional are merely an unfortunate coincidence.

I know bookworms think it's sacrilege to dog-ear books but like. I've been reading my battered, 15-year-old copy of Ranger's Apprentice and every time I put it down I move to fold down the page corner, only to find that it's already creased.

And every time it's a lovely little reminder that someone, either me or one of my brothers, has stopped on that very same page before. Sometimes I even remember the feeling of stopping on a particular plot beat or cliffhanger or piece of dialogue. And it's just so very endearing and nostalgic.

idk man I think the way we leave marks on the things we own and love is beautiful actually, and that's way more meaningful to me than having a pile of aesthetically pleasing, practically untouched books lined up on my shelves.

Personally I find turning dog-eared pages to be a pain. I try to keep the pages as untouched and immaculate as I can to minimize things that distract me from being immersed in the story while reading.

The cover, on the other hand, is likely well-worn and full of personality, battered and stained from traveling with me.

every time i play DRG i'll be like up a wall mining something and a glyphid will crawl up to me, attack me, and i'll just turn around and it'll just be sitting there, and i can't help but stare at it while it's on attack cooldown so i made this image to express what's going through both of our heads in those moments
