a hopeful update!
Hi friends, long time no see. I hope you’re all staying safe and healthy in these times. For me, quarantine has been a stressful time financially, but it also gave me a little more time to work on shroom soup.
While chipping away at talksprites, CGs and new maps, I couldn’t help but notice the difference in quality between the demo and the current game. It became even more obvious to me after replaying the demo. So I decided to take a break by remaking the starting maps of Arnika’s room and house.

Ah, the joys of parallax mapping. I wanted to show a bit more of Arnika’s personality and hobbies in her room. I also remade the rest of her apartment and am going to spice up the house floors. I hope it’s fun to explore in the finished game~

Losing someone is a terrible, indescribable experience. The feeling of one day waking up to realize your loved one is not there and you’ll never see them again…it’s maddening. It’s like walking in a forest. Whichever way you go, all you see are trees. Light peeks out from the treetops, but it’s only a slight sliver. The forest is not quite bright, but not dark, either. Distantly, you are aware that there is kindness, and light, and laughter somewhere, far, far away… Noël’s existence has been filled with confusion and loss. That much is certain. There is not much he understands about himself or others, but…all he has even known are the sense of pervasive loneliness and isolation. Upon visiting a ‘Moonlight Circus’, he meets a certain familiar grim reaper who proposes a game…… “You may have memories, but they pale in-comparison to seeing them everyday—to know that they still breathe.”

Träumerei Chapter 3-Moonlight Circus is an original Horror RPG game created in VX Ace by Veynn. The game is focused on exploration, story, and characters. It contains original art, graphics, and sprites. It is not required to play “Chapter 0” as it is not canon. I only made that game so that I could practice using the program.
