#post#they pulled a bunch of us into a meeting and told us our whole department basically got annihilated#and instead of transferring us to different departments like they've done with me before#they just kicked us all to the curb and it's up to us to try to re-apply and see if they wanna take us back lol#but hey at least i get a few weeks of severance pay#that's a lot more than i can say of all the other jobs i've been laid off from#plus i got 3 years of experience to put on my resume so i'm sure that helps with my future prospects somewhat#i just applied for unemployment benefits so i'll see where that leads me and hope i can find another decent job that pays me enough to live#goodbye health insurance

In order from first to last: Orion Nebula (raw view), Orion Nebula (processed), Beehive Cluster, Christmas Tree Cluster, and the Moon. I'll have to try my hand at the Andromeda Galaxy once it becomes visible at night again later this year
I got an adapter to attach my fancy camera to my computerized telescope and finally figured out how to use it with the correct exposure time and ISO settings to go with my telescope!
I've improved a lot in capturing the Orion Nebula in particular

I’m going to show you a book cover I’ve been staring at for ten minutes with the disclaimer that this isn’t anywhere close to the wildest book cover I’ve ever seen. It simply compels me. It haunts me. It makes me want to go back to the library to check it out.
Anyway it was nearly crazy enough. It was just a competently yet blandly written romance between an Amish single father and a woman with a troubled past, BUT at one point the villain gives his name as Pete Peterson and then 70 pages later someone’s finally like “so that’s probably a fake name” and then the villain’s real name? Phil Phillipson. I’ll bump the book up to a C+ for that alone.
